My advice for you to make yourself feel refresh everytime you wake up is that you sleep early at night. Sleeping early will make your body to wake up early and feel energize and complete. The most important is that you always make it a habit to rest atleast 8 hours of sleep. It is good for your health and for your skin and heart. Itll make you not feel tired for the rest of your day. If you dont sleep at early time or you dont have a complete 8 hours sleep , the tendecy of easily get tired will happen, another is you will loose your focus on thinking , and you will have much pimples.

I always feel like this when I wake up, as though I haven't slept, I feel I have to get up, yet I just want to turn over and go back to sleep again! It's a horrible feeling, feeling drained and the day hasn't even started for you, I have tried going to bed earlier to see if that helps, it doesn't, It's trial and error, but I felt so exhausted this morning and all I kept doing was yawning! But I managed to sleep all the way through so I am getting enough sleep, weird eh!

I used to be like that. I'd got to bed and wake up so tired still. Lately though I've been doing better. I still wake up a lot, but I attribute that to restless leg syndrome. However since I've made some changes in my diet, I do find I sleep better. I drink one caffienated beverage a day, and never after the noon hour, unless I have a migraine and then all bets are off. For dinner I make sure to mostly eat vegetables. I know it sounds odd, and I even take my vitamin at night instead of in the morning. Ever since I started doing that, I've slept much better, longer, and have awakened much less tired than before.

I find that when I get regular exercise during the day, I sleep much better at night. When I just go to work (which involves sitting in a chair) or stay on the computer too long (also sitting), I don't sleep nearly as well.
But if I can put in some time on the treadmill and/or go for a swim during the day, I'm probably going to sleep pretty good. Also, I don't use caffeine, so I'm sure that helps.
But if I lay around all day, reading, surfing the internet, and knitting--3 of my most favorite things--I will not sleep well. I guess, for me, I need balance and plenty of physical activity throughout the day to sleep well.

Most of the time I wake up refreshed, though it takes me a few minutes to fully awaken. I try to stay in bed for a few minutes after I wake up and that helps. When I stay up late and then my son wakes me up early, I don't feel refreshed. When he didn't sleep well and has been up half the night, I don't feel refreshed. Luckily that doesn't happen too often. He is usually pretty good about sleeping through the night except when he is sick.
I try to go to bed at a reasonable hour because I know my son will be up early, and that helps, especially if I have reason to believe he will be up during the night. Other than that, it is the usual advice you hear, try to work out what is on your mind so you don't stress about it all night, relaxing activities close to bed time, dark room, don't go to bed angry. All those things really do help.

I understand how that feels. It's very seldom these days that I wake up refreshed and ready to face the day ahead. Most of the time, I wake up tired and lethargic and not wanting to do anything but crawl back to bed and bury myself in the blankets. I'm not quite sure what determines my mood when I wake up but it seems that I usually sleep better during nights when I have not exerted too much mental energy too close to bedtime. Of course, I haven't really tested out that theory yet, having such a heavy workload these days, but I think when I get the luxury of time, I shall try doing some relaxing before going to bed - watch T.V., sip some tea, do breathing exercises - that sort of stuff. I do hope it works. =)

Most of the time I woke up refreshed but still sleepy so I don't get off the bed that instant. There are times that I feel I haven't sleep at all when there is an important event the next day, I guess I was just excited or nervous of what going to happened. I'm having a hard time sleeping at night so I drink a warm milk few hours before bedtime so when bedtime is on, I'm already sleepy and my eyes wants to rest. Milk has thrypthopan that makes our brain wanted to sleep. It's effective on me but I don't thinks its effective to everyone. But try it maybe it's effective on you too.

i'm in a graveyard shift so i sleep during daytime. what i do to get refreshed when i wake up is get a quick shower & drink milk. you may laugh about it but drinking milk (fresh or sterilized) will help not only in waking up but in our sleep as a whole. this of course helps specially it's hard to be in a graveyard shift where you body is used to sleeping at night time.
or if at times there's no stock of milk, what i do is tire myself until i'll doze off in my bed. i usually get up exhausted when i know that i lack sleep, like i know it's time to wake up & i only slept for 2-5 hours. or when i oversleep for more than 8 hours. it's like i'm exhausted when i wake up since i've been in the bed for 10 hours or so..
