Have you seen or used the Firefox/IE add on,www.stumbleupon.com ?
I think it's a great tool for searching the internet for new things..you sign up for the program on the site, choose a range of things that interest or might interest you, download a small toolbar to your browser, and that's it..You now have a little "Stumble" button on your browser, clck on it,and you'll be taken to a new site You've probably never seen before which you can explore, enjoy (or not) and if you want to rate it for other Stumblers,You can give the site a thumbs up or down if you like it or not,and add ratings..if you discover a site while out searching the web,you can add it to the Stumble "bookmarks" and be credited as the first stumbler to find it..So..Been there? Done that? Like it? (or not!)

It's good that You too have found it a useful addition for your browsing habits Sometimes Friends and Family would send me links to various sites, but Stumbleupon can give you more than you could shake a stick at,and you can choose interests to search through as well...

Yes, I have seen it. As you say, it may be a great tool for searching the internet for new things. However, I'm not really sure about the benefits. After all, there are so many ways to stumble across things online. One might pose the question: do we really need another site like this? Also, you are asked to use yet another tool bar to attach to you already cluttered browser. As I say, I have explored the site a little, but in the long term I cannot see that it is going to have a profound effect on my browsing habits.

So there are OTHER sites around like "Stumbleupon" online? It's the first one that I've ever seen, and hadn't heard of any competition for it.I agree on the cluttered browser appearance being not a good look, though.

hello
i use it, but i don't install it, in fact i hate Toolbars lol so i just install it for a while, i log in and i spread the new content of my blog/website then i uninstall it lol
But with all honesty it's a great website and very nice idea.

I get what you mean,it seems there are a lot of applications out there that offer to give you some handy dandy toolbar that links in with some program you want to download..I say no to nearly all of them..there'd be no room for the browser screen if I added them all!
