Well? Can I? Does anybody have a cat, or knows someone with a cat that isn't scared of dogs, that will actually go up to one and just be all like, "Whatever. You're cool. Let's play."
I would LOVE to teach my cat like dogs, and it's convenient that my neighbor has a dog, but my cat would hiss at the dog.
The reason? My sister is moving out west to where I am, and she has a dog, and well the dog is HER baby, just like my cat is MY baby, so her dog is my niece and my cat is her nephew lol. We're silly, don't worry, we know that already!
So, we would LOVE it if they got along.
Any suggestions??
Lock them in a room together or something? lol.

cats......i can't say. I believe you can never teach a cat to do something. They have their own way of doing things, but you could try teaching your dog to like your cat. I have seen many cat friendly dogs. Don't lock them together in a room, it might end up in a mess. jus take them out together on a walk or to a park to play. They might get along someday. Who knows:) cheers

I WISH I could take my cat for a walk, and to the park....hrm, maybe I'll try that in the summer.....I predict he will be stuck to a tree the whole time lol.

I had a little cat once who LOVED our puppy. They'd wrestle and play together...it was great. That was the only dog our cat ever liked, however. I think it was probably because they were both young and kind of grew up together. I think if your sister's dog and your cat can slowly get used to each other (short meetings at first with you and your sister holding your animals) they might have a chance. I've read (and tested the theory) that putting two animals in a room together and just letting them meet with no holds barred all at once doesn't work very well. I tried it with two of my cats and it didn't work at all. LOL Good luck!

HAH! My sister hold the dog, she's getting to be a little porker!
lol. The dog is a Cocker Spaniel and is about medium sized now, kind of hope she stays that size so I can stop figuring out her NEW size, bad enough that her BELLY keeps getting big! tsk tsk he-he.
And yeah, I was thinking them in the same room alone was going to be a bad idea anyways haha
Thanks for responding!!
