Do You Ever Feel That You Have Become Totally Inept At Taking A Day Off? LOL!

Although I really love what I do, sometimes it all can become a bit hectic and time demanding...
The practice of solving problems for other people than yourself, can become so "Buzzifying" that a person can get themselves lost in a swirl of "Work Think" before they realize it. I don't know how this works for you, but I can feel physically like I've just worked for 24 hours straight , even though I have only been on the computer for a few hours...
That was why this past Sunday, I was all set to plop down and just sit in front of the TV and watch some football and eat a few buffalo wings, something that I have not done in years... Some of you might know that I have been appointed as a Caretaker by the family of one of my deceased Clients, and I have been on a roll with this big job for the past few weeks, even though this service isn't my domain..
I mean, doing all of this stuff, and trying to gain control of my Inbox's 200,000 daily emails, while keeping all of you wonderful folks in my thoughts can be a chore (Don't worry, I still love you all)...
So I figured that on Saturday, my computer time would be short and sweet, so that I could clear my head in preparation for a deliciously fun Sunday... You know, turn off the phone, sleep late.. The Autumnal Turning is a Holiday for me, and I wouldn't have to worry about my Friends bugging me cuz they all know when I am "Closed", so to speak...
Well, here I am in my late Clients home and just about to kick back, when the front door started to open, and in walked four members of her family-- Luckily for them I was wearing clothes, as I had been contemplating having an All Nude Sunday, too, Dammit!
So now my day off suddenly evaporated, as I had to take them on tour of the place while they gathered some of the personal effects they wanted to keep... This was draining because I wasn't prepared to go over the story of my Client's last Earthly days, again and again...
Then I suddenly remembered that my friend Cheryl's radio broadcast debut had been made, and after the relatives finally left, I had to find a computer somewhere so I could listen to it (It's well worth it, folks! :))... So off to the nearest Library I went...
Somehow, this past Sunday seemed to be determined that I was going to work no matter what! LOL! :)
The same thing happened on Monday, too, so I figure that it's Mercury taking offense at my ability to take time off and celebrate, no matter what! :)
Well, I don't care what Mercury does or if it seems that "Resistance Is Futile", when it comes to my Relaxation Time, I am prepared to fight for it if I have to! LOL!
The weather is simply beautiful outside today, and I am going to take a long walk, maybe buy myself a bottle of nice wine and some gourmet lunch fixin's... Let's see Mercury Retrograde screw this one up! LOL!
I figure that if I keep away from actual Humans (In the flesh) for little while, I'll be much better off...

I am totally inept at taking a day off. I guess it depends on what taking a day off means. I get two days off a week from my regular job. Usually it's spent taking care of my father's affairs. Following up with paperwork, insurance, the nursing home has become almost a full-time job. I'm supposed to write on my days off as well. But there's always something else to do. My sweetie even cleaned the house so I'd have more writing time. My ideal day off would be wearing my Steelers pajamas and writing all day. No phones, no errands, no chores and no screaming cat. I have to learn not to check email or turn on the news. I couldn't do a clothing optional day. I get too many visitors, like the next door neighbor with Alzheimer's who comes over to visit my dad, though dad doesn't live here anymore. Plus Daisy my attention-starved cat likes to use my legs as a scratching post. Or maybe she hates the Steelers, I don't know. A day off. Hmm. What a novel idea.

Hey Kat, it sounds like you should arrange to get yourself "Kidnapped"!
Whenever I felt that my sugarbee was working too hard, I would simply, grab them by the hand, lead them out the door and hop on the first bus that was headed for the beach... I would ignore all protests, and simply stuff a big tablespoon of honey in her mouth when she attempted to cuss at me!

Ah Peaceful! I'm sorry that you can't seem to find any
Peace! I hope by now that you have! I do hope you grabed
that nice bottle of vino and found a nice place somewhere
far way from all humans and sat there just gazing out at
the beautiful blue sky with its puffy white clouds and the
sun beating down on you and the leaves falling slowly off
the trees making a nice bed to rest in! Wow, I wish I
was there! I made that sound so good that I wish I could
have been there! I think I need to find that place where
there's no humans and puffy clouds and blue skies~ on no!
No where am I going to go to find that place?

Taking a day off used to be something that I never had to even think about... I have been retired from formal employment for 8 years now!
Blue skies, puffy clouds, refreshing breezes, babbling brooks, and a bottle of New York State's finest vino...
OMG&G whatta dream!
