Yes, that is possible. I had problem like than before. Most of the day all I did was sit infront of my computer. Even having my meals, I still sit infront of my computer. That really affect my bacbone. Because sometimes you need to stretch or exercise your bones once in a while. Radiation of computer s harmful too. It may damage your brain nd cause cancer. So make sure you have a protector in your monitor if you do spend lot of time infront of computer. Computer was the reason why my visions gets blurry. Too much exposure infront of computer isn't good.

If you spend too much time just sitting facing in front of your pc. It is not healthy at all. You need to do some other stuff too to exercise your whole body. Inorder for a person to have a healthy lifestyle he/she must divide time between hours of using the pc and doing other activities. Your doctor is right with his findings. I think it is time for you to somehow change your habit and divide your time doing other things aside from using pc.

I agree it seems more and more that computers are becoming a vital part of life and almost everyone owns a computer whether it be a desktop or a laptop and they are on it everyday,me and my fiance both spend most of our time on the computers doing mylot and other sites because it is how we make our money right now, since we are having trouble finding a job,I think you doctor is blowing things out of proportion and that it is not being caused by computers, computers can be harmful in my opinion but only to your eyes if you stare at them too long, but if you are sitting comfortably then I do not think a computer can hurt your back.

It will become the problem when you sit continuously on the computer it causes the different problems like eyesight, backbone pains, and also even it can affect our stomach to by seeing colours on the monitor. My monitor is 17 inches my eyes will be strained by seeing that as I seen in my friend's home 15 inches monitor is better for not effecting eyesight

I think your doctor is right.. Because computer have a radiation.. It can affect our bone marrow and other reproductive organ.. I don't have any physical problem for using computer.. Because I don't spent most of my time in computer..

Make sure that you are taking frequent breaks from the computer, let say 5 minutes every hour. Check that the monitor is eye level and adjust the chair to the needed height.

It is not the computer that is the problem as far as your back is concerned. It is your chair. You have to get a chair with the proper support. An ordinary sofa or kitchen chair will not do it. Just go to your office supply store and see what they recommend. If he was talking about your eyes, then it would have been the lighting in the room or the refresh rate of your monitor was not set right and also that you did not take breaks.

Spending too much time on the computer can cause lots of problems. It can cause eye strain, back problems, carpal tunnel in your wrists, weight gain and even neck pain. Frequent breaks are a good thing, as are doing other things with your time. Computers are very helpful though and I can't imagine life without one. I've used my computer to plan trips, to search maps when needing to evacuate for hurricanes, and even to self-diagnose (a doctor confirmed later) my diabetes, as well as staying in contact with family and looking for houses to live in. All these things we can do with computers. But yet, if we sit here too long we can damage the most important thing - our health.

I agree with your doctor. The excessive use of computers harm eyes, stimulate the skin, wrist injury, but the computer more harm to mankind lies in its potential hanzaeds, such as multiple personality disorder, psychological and abnormal brain, and other high-level cognitive dysfunction, but also to show a number of both physiological and psychological characteristics which called psychosomatic diseases, such as the gastrointestinal tract dyspepsia, autonomic dysfunction, obesity and so on.

it can be harmful if you spend too much time and naturally excess of anything is bad and then these computer screens do effect your eye sight and then you start getting mild headaches and then they grow. so, try to use as less of the computer as possible yes it can be difficult but health is wealth and make computer as useful as you can for you!!

I had a look at this discussion because it seems that my indigestion flares up when I'm on the computer. I get heartburn, acid reflux and a tightening of the chest. I was wondering if it had anything to do with radiation or something. I also have a wireless broadband conecting perhaps it might be that? Does anyone else get simular thing?

It has been proven that computer monitors do not give off radiation. Even the old CRT monitors are safe.
I would say the harmful effects would be Carpel Syndrome - where the nerves in the wrist become pinched from the repatative use of a keyboard and mouse.
Also - some vision problems from staring at the monitor all day (dries the eyes) - you should always remember to look away every few minutes when working on the computer.

It depends.I mean if you work day and night in front of table pc,It does hurt you,no matter the radiation or the dust` and I think the laptop will less hurt I think`~Anyway,I don't think long time with the pc a good thing to our health~~lol.Nowadays,we got little choice but have to spend 10 more hours with pc`is that so?
