What is a recovery software...

My friends got a laptop and he is asking me to help him find this recovery software. the model is Acer- Aspire-5603WLMi where can i actually find this software online ? I badly need help...

On newer laptops the recovery software is actually already on the computer. If you go to My Computer and go to the Control Panel it should be in there. Usually it's found under "Performance and Maintenance". It will say "System Restore". Hope this helps.
