Piano is a big part of my life, Ive loved it since I was a child. My parents always tried to get me a keyboard up to date but was usually a used one, but still it didnt matter. My parents couldn't afford to get me lessons or anything so I learned to play by ear. It's tough for me to read notes from a sheet and play at the same time so I tend to listen to a song and try to play it myself. Does anyone else love this beautiful instrument as I do? When I listen to it its like a whole new world appears. Its really a beautiful magical instrument. what are you thoughts?

My favourite instrument is the piano. I have been playing since I was nine years old and I got my diploma when I was eighteen. However, whereas I had lessons and passed all my exams, I got used to reading music and now I cannot play without it unless I learn something by heart. I envy people like you who can play by ear and I would love to be able to do it so that I can play at parties. I suppose I might be able to do it if I tried but now I am too lazy to do it. I thought myself to play the violin and I play tunes on that by ear.

I think anyone can play by ear, just takes time and patience which was all I had at the time. There are some songs I wish i could play "properly" but can't because i just dont know how to read that well off sheet music but i try.
thank you for responding here :)

I've always wanted to play the piano, but I couldn't afford even a used keyboard when I was younger. I bought a cheap keyboard last year just so I could practice. It's difficult to learn at the beginning. I still couldn't get over that tendency to look at the keyboard, at my fingers, but I'm making up for it by looking at the big LCD display at the middle of my keyboard body.
I try to play by ear but most of the times I am frustrated but I try. If anyone can do it, why can't it?

Piano is part of my life too.
I started playing as a child, and then I was a professional player into a elegant restaurant on the sea.
I still play the piano on my own now.
Anyone here has been a talented professional as I was?
Telle us if you was a live player.
