It's a big issue right now and senators are debating about it, whether to approve or not. I want to hear opinions about contraception.
Should contraception be banned? If not, is it good for the society?
Have a peaceful day mylot friends and thanks in advance for responding!

I don't think contraception should be banned. It is not a sin because it is just preventing a pregnancy to occur. It is not like abortion which is already killing life. Contraception is better than allowing unwanted pregnancies and then babies born are not given due protection and care. Those who are saying it is a mortal sin should rather think first what mortal sin are they talking about.

Where is this that senators are debating it? In the US, there is no debate or argument that I know of about contraception. Contraception is approved and available. I have heard of some Catholics who do not believe in contraception, except withdrawal or rhythm methods, but I'm not sure that they still believe that way. I'm a Christian and I do believe that abortion is wrong, and therefore, something like the morning after pill would be abortion in my opinion, not contraception. The only debate I can think of in the US might be whether it is OK to give children under age of 18 contraceptives without their parents' consent.
Where do you live that is having this debate?

Ban contraceptives? umm no. I know its rare, but there are actually single young people, even teens that use contraceptives (not that i condone teens being sexually active) but for thos who are active, why would we ban contraceptives and then they cant use them. Arent taxpayers paying enough for people who have children left and right, unplanned, we dont need to add to the number because contraception isnt an option for those who do currently use it. It would be a big mistake if contraception was banned. Also think of the cost of medical insurance, for those who are fortunate enough to have it, the premiums will go up, because companies have to pay out for more childbirths, that may not have happened if contraception was available.

I usually don't appreciate it when the big wigs of congress and other political views place emphasis on contraception and family values. I believe that it should not be a concern to them at all.
We are supposed to be a free country. I don't believe that we should live life where anything goes all of the time but contraception is just a fact of life we have had in place in society for a long time.
No one should be told that they have to bear children and not use contraception. That is up to personal choice of a couple. Married or not.
I don't thing contraception should be banned and nothing of the sort is really going to do society any good.
I personally don't need contraception. I am unable to bear anymore children. I do have my opinion on this subject though and I just wanted to be honest about it.
