Is it just me or does it seem like these measures are like putting a band-aid on a severed arm? It seems like congress is just trying to delay the inevitable---another economic depression. They are too focused on WRONG things, which is that the price of everything is TOO HIGH and people can't afford to buy big ticket items-------why don't they just do us all a favor and use that money towards making this country more engery efficient and make engery efficient mass transportation and that will LOWER the price of gas..........thus everything else will be lower and people will be able to buy things.

Not only should they reduce the cost of gas, but they should reduce the cost of insurance to lower housing costs. With the election this year I doubt we will see relief anytime this year.

I am with you on this. To me it is not the governments problem for this bail out these companys should have had higher standards before they lended the money. But what many people don't realize is that we will end up paying for these failures. We will pay the government back. There just needs to be a redo of our government and get things straight. It is time. But you know they say there is a cycle to the economy of ups and downs and it is time for that great depression as scary as it may seem. Who knows it may be for the best to wake people up and get their crap straight. Washington is definitely not thinking right.
