I talk about my store alot because of all the wild things that happen and that i hear everyday..after 16 years if i could write like some Talented people here, I would write a book, but then Who would buy it?..lol..
One Wonderful Young Guy i think trying to impress his girlfriend was telling her things of what did what in the store, He saw my tye dye hangings i made and asked How Much? I said Not for sale, He then said "Come On Everything has a price!" So I said One Thousand Dollars! He acted Like i hit him..I said Did I offend you?..He walked out all Huffy like and said Come On...
Now I say to all of you...
Just What do you do when someone says those Words to you? Who can value What? Is Something Worth More to you than your Life?

Now that gives me an idea...if you want to borrow my shoes it will cost you dearly! A thousand dollars sounds about right to me
If someone says something is not for sale, I don't argue, I just smile. No, nothing is worth more to me than my life, not even my high heels

Good Answer , he will think twice before he says everything has a price to the next person .
You are right there are things we all have in life that are so invaluable to us that there is no price tag high enough . I have things that my children made for me that I treasure and always will . While it may not look like much to someone else , it means the world to me because of the sentimental value behind it and nothing can replace sentimental value .

I would tell him some things are worth more than money and they are priceless. Let him figure it out. His girl will probably see how shallow he is then.
I can't believe it when, for instance, I used to have a beautiful painting and the first thing people would say is "That's worth a lot of money!" as if I would even consider selling it. It's rather insulting. I finally did have to sell it to get through my divorce, but it was and still would be priceless to me. At least it helped me out when I needed it. Why do people put monetary labels on everything?!

Some things are too valuable to have a price. I know that the economic rationalists would like to put a price on everything but what price an untouched wilderness that can be be the recovered. What price the polar bear if it becomes extinct. What price something that is not for sale. These things are beyond price. What price a human life? There are so many things that have no price and can never have one.
Some of them we are in danger of losing forever. The man is a fool. I think this whenever I read about economists arguing that we can put a price on the air we breathe, on the parks we love to spend time in. The very thought makes me sad. I worry that one day they will win and we will have nothing because we cannot protect the things that have no value but are worth more than life itself.
The sad thing is that some people just do not understand and the more money they have, the less they understand.

I used to work in a Garden Center/ Home Decoration/Christmas Shop. The first Christmas I worked there I was amazed to see the decorator disassembling a display, and having someone carry out the bakers rack it was set up on. I asked about it and she said "Oh yes, everything in the store is for sale, even our lighted display cabinets." Of course when I looked at the price on the cabinets, they were about three times what you could buy them elsewhere, but they were, indeed for sale.
I decided then and there that if I ever had a shop I would never tell someone "it's not for sale". It will either be "part of a private collection", or the price will be outrageous!

For me I think there are still things that money can't buy. For me putting a price on things make them less valuable. Just like for your tie dyed hangings, I think that guy really doesn't know the value of hardwork that couldn't be priced just like that.

I would tell them, I TOLD you it wasn't for sale, and if you really want it, you will pay the price I asked.
Besides my family, there are only two actual possessions that are more precious than anything else. One my grandmother made and one my mom made, I took them on the condition that I would never sell them with the rest of my jewelry.

You are right. I think the young boy was too young and foolish. Maybe he only had a little experience on life, he didn't know there were many priceless things.
In addition, modern world don't has a good social conduct. Many young men don't know how to respect other people.

That is so True, that everything in life does have a price. There are some things in my life I consider more valuable than others. There are some things (like my husband for instance) that I would not trade for all the money in the world. I guess that is also why they say one mans trash is another mans treasure as well. It just depends on what someone is willing to pay for something as well.

Well, some things just don't have a money value, but a sentimental value that transcends money.
Unlike popular conception, MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING!
I hate it when people just won't take NO for an answer.

I don't believe everything has a price. For instance, there's not an amount of money in the world that could tempt me to do something dishonest - or something I wouldn't feel comfortable doing. Also, treasured possessions given to me by family and friends are worth more to me than any amount of money. Some things just can't be bought.

Life is all I got, nothing more nothing less, maybe life has a price, actually when someone wake up and feel the happiness, feel really happy then he bought the life and it has no price anymore but before it when someone is just living to sleep and not appreciate it at all, because this just has happended and this was so band, and someone else did this to me, bla bla bla bla ... then he makes it very expensive, its something like a candy in a wrapper, he tries to eat the wrapper and believe it teast sweet like a candy, he has the candy all the time in his pocket but he still believe eating a wrapper can makes him feel happy and in the store when you buy a candy you pay more for the wrapper than the candy really cost but I don't think a wrapper would be more worth than the candy. Everything has a price, yes because everything has some value but it doesn't mean has the same value and that eveyone choice the right value to this things.
