hi friends this topic may sound funny. but the fact remains that each one of us thinks differently. i have come across people telling me, that they are proud to be them selves and others are not so happy with themselves, their families, their situation etc.
what about you are in love with yourself?
you love every thing about you , your name etc. or any other thing which you would like to change for ever?

I love who I am, everything I have, everything around me. Yet human as we are, we are never fully contented of what we have. That is our nature. If asked if I'm happy with who I am, yes I am oretty much but if given a chance to make my life a lot better, my name nicer, my face prettier, my economic standing higher, then absolutely I'll GO for it. Who doesn't want a nicer life, right?

There was a time in my life that I went through depression and hated myself. Those were the darkest days of my life. But after that stage, I realized that there would always be problems and trials in life and it's all a matter of accepting what you cannot change. Once I had this mind set, I started loving myself and started appreciating the things that I do have. Now, I love my life, even with all its challenges, the ups and downs, the tears... I've come to love it.

I'm glad to hear that you finally made it out in the dark tunnel of life. One of my friend who is also a doctor advised us that we should think of the happy things if ever we encounter hardships and not so good experiences in life. Remembering that somebody loves you and knowing that in other parts of the world, people are suffering more than you are suffering. Good thing mylot is here to help us learn and be happy. Happy mylotting!

hi dear juhi06 wonderful discussion .
some of my friends they always seem to be complaining about their names and say they do not like it!
but none of them has never thought of changing it or at least discussed pubically about doing so.
as far as i am concerned i was very anxious as a child about my name. i never heard of any one having this name . even my teachers used to ask about the meaning of this name.
but as i grow up i am very much proud of my own name now.
it is so uncommon and rare!!!

I have the same experience too. My grade school teachers and classmates also asked the origin of my name because it's unique. At first I felt uneasy having to explain all the time and at that time I'm a very shy person. But as I grow up I realize that having a unique name has advantages and one of them is teachers remember you and can give you good grades. My old classmates from grade school easily find me in Friendster. I really love my name.

I love myself but there are still a lot of things I want to change in me .I want to change my bad habits so that I'll be a better person. With regards to my name I don't think I would like to change it because it would be a lot of trouble doing such.

This is who I am, this is what I got. I am just beginning to discover myself. I really do not feel the need to start again with a new me. I can reinvent myself anytime using the vast resources at my disposal, my spirit. Cheers!!

I thought about this very few times in my life.
My name is distinctive and far from ordinary.
Sometimes I think that people with ordinary names might change them and are really unfortunate because of that.
I don't love myself that way but I do think I'm fortunate in lots of ways.

I would not say I love myself but I am happy to be who I am. I would not want to be anyone else.
I'm not proud of anything about myself but I do feel proud of some of the things I have done in my life, and I feel more pleased because I have had to overcome difficult times and events in order to achieve them.
I am in love with life and I accept my place in it. My name does not matter, the one thing I want to do is to try and live a good life and not to harm anyone or anything.

hi dear savypat, the teenage is a strange age! we look for changing the world!!
but the name should represent you and the personality in you!!
thats why in the old indian traditional system it was given high importance and according to the stars the names were selected!!

I guess I have no choice but to love myself coz it's the only one I have, right? hehe... Seriously, I've always been the kind of person who acknowledges my positive and negative traits. I have come to terms with who I really am and I am comfortable with it. However, if I could change my name, I probably would. I have one problem with my name, it doesn't fit my personality. Another thing I don't like about my name is that I may have known too many girls with the same name. There's nothing unique about my name and I don't like that fact because I'd like to believe that I have a unique personality.

hi dear rakittera . i like your positive attitude and your great reply to the discussion .
go for the change.
in many cases the name are just kept when the baby is born without going deeper into the personality of the child with which it is born and there is a great mismatch as you say.
well in our indian system some people use to go to the great astrologers who wil calculate and tell the traits and suggest a name according to the stars under which the child is born!!
now with the ancient technique fading away, it is all the age of computers, liking and disliking!!
regards and good luck!!

If theres something that Im not happy about "being me" is that I always care for others and as long as it would be a good for the many I forgot to give myself a chance to be happy. Its ok for me to loose anything or anyone as long as it wouldnt hurt the majority. well at my age now I think i should give myself a chance to cross the line sometimes.

Good discussion, though seems funny. I always like my name, love the fame of my name and appreciate my friends' fame! I am proud of myself and my performances, even here at myLot as 'Mitraa' by username.
I think, there is an unique power in one's name that impacts this whole society if put into right actions by the particular person! So simply changing the name only will not change anything, rather the attitude and activities must have to be changed and made better for a better personality!

hi juhi!
i often find me asking myself why am i like this or why am i like that. i have some things that i don't like about myself and most of the times i wish i can change it or i wish i don't have it. but in the end, i would think that i wouldn't me if it weren't for those qualities, behavior and attitudes. and i just keep on thinking that there's probably a reason why i was born like that. ^__^
as for my name, i used to think it was too long and i kinda didn't like it before. i used to have a hard time writing it since it is too long. but i learned to love it eventually because its kinda unique.

i like my name, i have 3 names and i love it.. and i love my family and my life.. and everthing that's happening to it.. i'm not rich, but i am contented..and striving to make my lie better.. i am not tall and i wouldnt say i am beautiful, but i have a lot of friends and they find me a beautiful person.. i have a boyfriend who loves me so much and i love him the same way..i come from a biog family of 7 siblings, sometimes we get too noisy, but nevrtheless love and protect each other.. guess what i am trying to say is that life can never be too perfect.. we have to live and be contented with it.. i love my life and wouldnt want to change any of it..

There are honestly a lot of things I would change, I've always felt that way. I like parts of my personality, but really I feel no matter what I would feel like it wasn't completely who I want to be. If that makes sense.. it's late!
My name is fine, but I would consider changing it if my mom and dad were ok with it. I am 25, but I would feel bad changing my birth name without feeling they were ok with that decision. Since I was about 14 I've gone by my nickname among my best friend and everyone she knows, so I am almost more comfortable with that name now, and I started using that because we came up with stage names when we were gonna start a band, and mine was Kayla Destiny, well--Kayla just stuck, and still, my best friend calls me that. I really like the name and when I recorded my first cd I considered using it but my dad thought I should go by my real name till I get successful. I still don't know though.. I do have some identity confusion, but I definitely wouldn't complain about my real name--just the fact that it's very common for my birth year and people spell it wrong all the time(mine is spelled Kristin, not "E"!
Overall, I have always had like no self-esteem, and I doubt that will ever change--some things help a little, but I never really feel proud. And I'm not complaining, or anything.. it's reality, just being honest.

It's great that you have a nickname that you really like. I too know some friends who wanted to have a different name because theirs are too common. One of my friends name is Mary Grace and even her surname is so common so when we were applying for clearance in the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation), she had to come back the next day to get her clearance because her name had hits (people with the same name). Maybe you should think a unique name for your future children. :)

You should learn to love yourself, only then we can turn out to be sucessful :) As far as my name is concerned,I dont dislike it.. But have sometimes asked my parents as to why they did not go for some better options :) No issues,I'm happy for what I AM :-D
