So what professions does everyone do? Personally I do jewel crafting (rather expensive) but it seems to be pay pretty well.

I do mining and herbalism. I make really good money doing it. Mining is the better of the 2 for me. I go to hellfire spend about an hour farming and make about 100G depending on the auction house that day since it fluctuates so much.

My 70 Blood Elf Paladin has Blacksmithing and Mining. I get to have a powerful epic shoulders from it -Dawnsteel shoulders. Expensive but well worth it. Also, mining's a gold-bringer. Blacksmiths, Engineers, and Jewelcrafters all benefit from Miners since they give out ores. Excellent for gold farming. My 70 Tauren Druid is a Skinner and a Leatherworker mainly because I like to craft my own gear. Also, I get lots of gold off leather items.

My two professions are tailoring and herbalism. I make money with both but I make the most with the herbs. Since inscription, herbs have gone up a lot. I made almost 100g last week for a stack of herb that normally wouldn't even be 20g. I farm as much as I can and make a pretty decent profit.

Of my three toons that are 70 my professions include mining, engeneering, herb, alch, tailoring, enchanting. Of these six Engeneering and Enchanting are the most expensive and i have yet to make a real profit of enchanting ( it on my newest 70).

I have a level 23 rogue with skills in skinning and leatherworking, which are both at professional level. But I am close to going artisan level with skinning. I figured since rogues are restricted to leather armor, it would be beneficial to take these skills so I don't have to depend on quest drops or go to an armor store or an auction house for my armor.
