How much money you pay for buying a house?

my house is an apartment of around 100 square meters, it costed around 1000,000 RMB, our family annual income is about 100,000 per year, and we have to spend some money for daily consume, we can only save 60,000 per year, that means we should use our 17 years of savings to buy the house. We got the house by down-payment, get a loan from bank to buy the house and pay back to the bank monthly. Every month we pay to the bank more than 6,000 for the loan and interest. Only little money left for living. What a miserable life!!! We are afraid of jobless everyday.

It's easy to say but difficult to do. When the price was cheaper we have no enough money to pay for the downpament. When we have enough to pay but the price got higher and higher.

I saw on some web site and our local newspaper that in America people will have to spend 2000 dollars to buy a house, It's so cheap. Is that true? Who knows?
