shoes or flip flops(slippers)

During my school days i often used shoes because it is require in school and at work i have to use shoes also. Before slippers are not that fashionable so its hard to used it in going anywhere, i only used it at home. But now there are nice slippers or they call it now flip flops that is nice to wear and pair it to your clothes. Now i use flip flops more often because its more comfortable, and not prone to bad smell.
