This does make you think twice before drinking or using any kind of milk.
Better safety standards need to be implemented in many places. Faster and cheaper
producton leave a margin for error and contamination.
There can be NO errors in a food processing company of any kind.
Sterilization and keeping everything clean is the focus on our health.
We need to figure out a way to get rid of all the chemicals used in
these processes before we all end up sick or dying too fast over the added
hormones put in everything we eat.

Hey,
Talk your country into getting stuff from America and you will
be getting safer products and better made things.

china's milk scare affected a lot of countries. i don't know what's with china but they have been making bad products. like the toys that have lead, the lipstick that can cause cancer and a whole lot more. i think that it has also something to do with us consumers always looking for something cheap instead of looking for a good quality.

This seems to be another SNAFU in the products in and out of China. At this point I am leary of any product coming from China be it for internal consumption or otherwise.
They don't seem to be able to put the necessary controls in place to guarantee healthy quality products. One of these times the illnesses or deaths produced by these products will be totally outrageous and something awful will happen as a result.

these events are a mere manifestation of what china products are all about..just what you have said they can't guaranty us for our safety if we used their products..if this is the case who is dumbed enough to used theirs...and the aftermath for these irresponsibility will fall back to them...

It is so unfortunate that a lot of Chinese infants had to suffer and die because of a few greedy and evil businessmen... and this is in the wake of China's success in hosting the olympics... so sad that the country's image would be tainted because of poisonous milk...
I for one am supporting the ban on importing all products form China... until such a time that the government will solve all the problems they are facing...

this is a big mistake china will regret for long, its not actually the second time they were put in hot seat regarding the safety and quality of their products...but this one did create a large scale of awareness making consumer public to really once and for all out of scariness avoid buying products not only milk but also other product made in china..and this will cost china much if they don't realize it yet...

i guess its some kind of sabotage on the Chinese economy. i just noticed this that china products are often in a controversial condition. i mean i dont get the point why? they sell cheaper products but the risk is your health. i remember the mattel products which is also made in china, it was also controversial. plus the lead contents on toys. why are they doing these? what will they get from it?

Well I guess they get profit from selling products that are substandard or is health risk. The cheaper raw materials they buy they can sell it cheaper and the innocent buyers would practically patronized them which little did they know they are being harmed in the process because of that cheaper price.

Sometimes we need to check things and food that we are buying if its goof for us,, and we are consigering two ways of buying food. first its should be approved by the department of health second goof quality, and reasonnable price too.

i think thats the problem why we have these products on our own markets...its so simple putting a particular products without approval from this branch of the government dont know why, maybe a simple answer can explain that...bribery...and red tape...

I think it is scary how big business can do these things for the sake of money, when I think of those poor beautiful little children, how dare these people, these companies do this...and i think they will probably get away with it, I think someone has to pay and it should start at the top...

i do agree with you friend...and this thing should not be taken lightly by every country who are importing these products made from china, there must be some kind of in depth analysis with all these products otherwise we end up consuming all these bio hazard food they are selling to us...

If there is something that is harmful in the milk, it should not be sold and this is not the first wrong thing that China has done. There were toys they sold that were made with lead paint, packages containing small beads that were marketed for children and yet if a baby got a hold of one of those beads, it would be fatal.
At least they warned you when you finished your glass. In some cases with former products we did not learn about the ill effects until years later when the damage had been done. The scientists are getting better at warning people.
It would be well to be scared, knowing China's track record and human rights violations. They probably kept the people in the factories working for twelve hours straight.

Wow. That's insane. They're under a lot of scrutiny, especially when it came to the whole poisoned baby formula issue. A lot of people are looking to buy from other countries because of that. It's terrible!

actually that is a case of insanity..putting other people's lives in peril just to earn big profit...maybe they dont care too much because china wants to decrease their population and putting poison on infant milk is their way of checking on these problem of over opulation...i think thats too much...

I just think it speaks volumes to just how reliant on chemicals and synthetics we have become for practically everything and I question whether the food we have anymore is food--50 ingredients in one snack food, come on. I am outraged that a corp would stoop that low to just create and illusion of protein in these formulas and when I saw it I just could not stop thinking 'who does this' BUT
we do the same things here in America. Genetic Engineering is a very real threat to our entire agriculture--we are injecting animal genes into vegetables, come on people, its the same thing. The measures they go to to make a seed more durable threatens even wild species, do we really want that? Roundup is a big culprit and I think many do not even know that--they made a real mistake when they allowed patenting of seeds, is an absolutely bogus industry.

true are the things you have said...every thing just go in the form of instant...only few foods left to be a natural, with these genetically improve crops and meat were not so sure what will it cause us sooner...i think lets go and resort to natural foods rather than these processed foods which are chemically prepared and processed...thanks friend

It's actually really scary. I heard on the radio that not only are their milk products being recalled, but also some sweets that have raw materials from China. Some sweets include M&M's and Snickers. I'm not really sure if it's true because I only heard it on the radio and I haven't read any news anywhere about it. I think we're safe as long as we don't drink milk that comes from China. It's true that this is not the first time a recall of Chinese products has been done. A few months back, there was the recall of toys from China because of traces of lead found in them.

Right around Halloween, but I just thought they meant candies from China, is their any candies imported from China over hear since MARS is a pretty big corporation of candy--but its not uncommon for corps to import raw material, like you said, from other countries, even with MEAT!

you know i was thinking about that china milk scare, why does it happen? it is by accident or intended to do that but for what was the reason, no one can tell. See because of that many child was affected. Good to know that Philippines government had discover it, we never knew what would happen if that news never discovered by the government. I was really upset for that news because i had five siblings drinking milk too..

actually these discovery was triggered by some specially in the health community who happen to know this case..and when exposed these china milk is making money in our own market without the knowledge that they cause harm to our body...and china is silent about this if not only brought up to media...the thought is china knows already about this before the olympic date and did not in any way warn the world and the consumers around the world about the real issue...of course they know what will be the dffect on their economy if these issue break loose specially by the media..

in china is there is commitee or government which looks the quality of the product coming in the country or product manufactured in the country.if any commitee is there then the matter reguarding purity of the product must be detected by then there must be a symbol by which the general public can come to know standard of the the product and find more on this

i think they overlook on this issue, and just like everywhere big companies specially exporting one that contribute to the growth of your economy is being given such so much liberty specially on tight watch of the government agency that should be watching or monitoring the quality of their product, as a result this chemical issue was not properly check and analyze of its harmful effect...

Hi Arnoldream, this is going to affect China's reputation for a long time to come. Rebuilding trust in their products, especially food, is going to be a long process!
It's incredible how people can do these sort of things in their quest for wealth and success - it is more than being unethical, it's like there is an absence of conscience!
We are not only fearful of milk products from China; in fact we check for the country of origin for every product that we purchase.

i think china should be responsible to pull out their products that contains malamine. But also our government should also be the one to protect the filipino citizen from this poisonous product. As early as now they should ban the milk that has been proven poisonous. And also each individual should buy only trusted milk brands.
