How secure do you feel the internet is with all the scams we hear about eveyday , are you comfortable using your credit card or do you wait to hear what others have to say about a particular site or do you just buy what it is you are interested in ? How often do you use a credit card online and how secure are you in doing this ? Have you ever not recieved an item that you paid for because a site was not legit ?

I no longer use credit cards or bank cards online. Last year our computer was hacked, and our information stolen. Its been a year and we are still trying to recoup the money taken from us. We finally had to close out our bank accounts and open new ones. I will shop online, but I'll look for a toll free number and call in my order if possible.

I think hackers are getting into the computers at the credit card companies and other banks and getting our personal information. Our personal information is in a lot of computers local and all over the nation. Even IRS and other government computers.

I use my credit card online to book online tickets and to pay for my webhosting, but that's about it. I hav no qualms using my credit card for both, since the airline company's site is secure and since they are a big company, they can't risk not securing their online booking site. As for my webhosting, I used my credit card, but it was through PayPal. I have also purchased a tamagotchi online, and I used my credit card, but it was also through PayPal, which is so far very secure in my opinion. I'm very wary in terms of directly using my credit card to purchase items online as there are a lot of scams out there.

I feel a bit apprehensive while using my credit card on-line. However, if I find that the site is in secure mode, I go for it. I do not prefer using it at unkown websites. So far I have not faced any problem, while using my credit card.

yeah we do it once in awhile.. but only on sites that's for real. like dell the last time we use it. but we did have our credit card information stolen a few time. we never use our bank card just the credit card..
if you do use your's look at the bottom right side of the page, you should see like a lock there, it means it's secure.

i have used my credit card many times online and i have done through trusted sutes online. there is no problem in that untill and unless its a fake site , be careful about it. if you want to buy some thing then go by trusted and long time market players.

No I would be to scared to do this. I would pay with paypal because I think it is safer then a credit cards. You don't want someone to have your credit card number and there is hackers and to many scams out there now to be safe and to take a chance doing this.

Yes I have used credit cards as well as debit cards for my online transactions. However, I only used them at sites that i can trust such as PayPal or eBay and other sites that are known to many as legitimate businesses.
I would not use my card on sites that are unknown to the market or sites that have been badly reviewed or received lots of complaints.
As far as security is concerned, so far I do not have nay problem with my cards. Just make sure that you always type in the URL instead of trying to load it directly from an email since emails are frequently used by people who want to steal your money and other things...
We just need to know what we are doing and are fully aware of the procedures when using our cards online.

I don't have a credit card to use online but if I did then I woudl probably use it online. I have used my debit and it is almost like a credit card and I have never had any problems with it so if I get a credit card I would use it to cause some sites won't let you buy unless you have a credit card.

I have bought online with my debit card and my credit card and I have never had a problem with anything. I also pay almost all my bills online and I love the ease in that and Im saving money.
My mom refuses to do anything like that on line and it is a constant disagreement with her and my dad as he does and does it quite often!

I have heard some negative news to use the credit card online. However, I still think most of the users are safe. I used my credit card a lot online because of the online shopping. It's very convenient. Two months ago I bought stamps from Ebay but since I have a Paypal account, I used it rather than my credit card. However, I haven't got my stamps until now. This is quite disappointing.
I love China

There is a thing with paypal that if you don't recieve something throught ebay where you can put in a claim that you never recieved your item , they will look into it for you and give you some if not all of you money back . It may take a couple of months to get it back after they start the claim but they have an insurance policy for if you don't recieve your item . You should look into it .
Thank you for your response .

I use credit cards on the internet regularly but only from sites I trust and that have the security features on them. If I want to purchase from a new site that is not a company that is well known, I will only do so if they accept Paypal. To this point I have never had a problem either with stolen identity or not receiving items purchased. That being said I did once have a problem with Ticketmaster where they signed me up for this reward site I had never heard of and I would consider Ticketmaster reputable. Now I am hesitant using their site because of it.
