I would like to know from a parent like me on how do you celebrate your kids birthday. Do you prepare ahead of time? How much do you usual spend? Do you celebrate only in the house? School? Or in a venue? For me, my kids always look forward for their birthday. So I always prepare ahead of time so it is not so painful in the pocket. For instance, I buy the giveaways 2 months before, ordered/paid the cake 1month before. How about you?

Good luck in your birthday preparation rainmark. This is the first birthday so I am sure how excited we as parents are. I also have a budget of around Php 10,000 or lets say around $200 but sometimes I get carried away. Happy mylotting!

i have 3 small kids and my eldest daughter will be celebrating her birthday this coming october 8th..she will be 3 years old..usually when it is there birthday we tend to spend too much, my parents have some share in the expenses, like they are in-charge of the food, i take care of the gifts, the cake, the party, we just celebrate it at home because we have many relatives and cousins..so its a really big party...as for the coming birthday..it will just be simple..just a dinner and gifts that is all..i cannot afford it anymore..i have no income of my own so i have no contribution.

hello andak, I guess Filipinos really love kiddie parties. A lot of food that sometimes most guest are adults - lol like in the provinces. Lots of foods especially lechon (yummy) and cake. I have lots of friends here in Manila who makes their kids parties really grand. But mostly on a potluck - just like what happens to you. We are grateful that our families shared with our expenses. My mom and my brothers sometimes shared with my expenses too. The 3rd birthday of my youngest was held in school, just bought a cake, giveaways and jollibee. They all had fun! At home, just dinner with close relatives plus another cake to blow.

My kids birthday's are special, but I do not go all out with gifts and big parties. I will buy each kid a few gifts. Never more than $50 and bake them a cake. It is usually just us for dinner and presents and cake after, but last year Grandma was around for both birthday dinners.

I normally spend between $ 250 to $500. But as I said, this amount is accumulated over time. My kids loves Jollibee and Mcdonalds so normally their parties are held there. Its so nice to see how happy they are during their party.

My twins are only going to be a year old in March, so I haven't done birthdays before. I've been starting to think about how much money we'll need for their birthday party though. I told my husband that I wanted to give them a big first birthday party, because we're going to be moving away next year with the military, and even though they won't remember it, at least it'll make me feel better thinking that they got some sort of party with all of the people who love & care about them.

We as parentes intend to celebrate more on the 1st birthday. Although the celebrants dont remember it, but its one way that we together with our friends and relatives come together and party - even if its a kiddie party. Yes, they wont remember it but with photos and video - my boys loved them. They keep on looking at their birthday photos. The videos are now scratched and broken after playing it a hundred times, its good that the original is in my cabinet hidden. lol Some of the moms in the Philippines really spend so much in the 1st and 7th birthday. Good luck for your birthday preparation!
