Did you ever learn any thing while watcing TV...??

We all watch TV almost every day.Some people watch it just for fun,some people watch only news channels for knowledge and information.People like me watch only sports channels.I love to watch football matches on TV.I always try to learn the game while watching and I try some tricks at home.Its always good to learn some thing even though they are not useful now they will be useful in our future...
Do you learn any thing by watching TV...?Did you ever learn any thing..?If yes what did you learn...?

I learned how to spell encyclopedia from TV. Specifically from Jimminy Cricket. I learned when the Marine Corp was founded from Criminal Minds. I don't set out to learn anything when I watch tv. I watch for entertainment (even the documentaries) but bits of knowledge sneak in, which I find is the best way with tv.

I have learned many things from TV. I learned that a cookie jar I used to have (it broke) was worth $500. Boy, was I upset. I've also learned many things about animals and forensics. I watch documentaries on medicine and when I had Discovery Health Channel I watched operations that friends had had or that I might have to get some day. So yes, I've learned a lot. Even the silliest shows sometimes throw trivia in that I find myself using later. And Jeopardy, when I watched it, was good because it always seemed someone would be asking the question the next day or so.

i'm fond of watching tv series such as Friends, Grey's Anatomy, etc.. and from these series alone i learn a lot.
from the series of Friends, I learn about different kinds of things such as how to keep/handle a relationship whether it be a lover, friendship or family. i learn from the stuff they tell, little things but if you look at it it a bigger point of view it'll help you improve yourself and life as a whole.
from Grey's anatomy i learn some medical stuff. my degree is not in line with medicine.
we lost our cable connection but before i used to watch the discovery channel & animal planet. boy they do have a lot of information that was not taught in school!
we also have local series where kids can learn about ABC's just like sesame. also one series who teached kids about math technics. whew!
whoever said to kids that watching tv is not educational?

I picked up the game of cricket from television. But this only got me addicted. I learnt the game of football too, I mean bits and pieces. I'm forced to watch football as my son demands it.

Yeah I do learn some things from the TV. Usually from the news and from Discovery Channel. I prefer Discovery channel in learning from the TV as it discusses a lot of interesting stuffs, at the same time it's enjoyable to watch.

Well, usuallly I do only two things on TV-
1. Watch news channels
2. Watch sports channel
While the second one is just for recreation, I feel that the first one teaches us a lot. We become more aware about whats happening around us and this helps us a lot.
