I only report cheaters

As many of you know, I post to a number of controversial topics. Arguements happen and they often get heated. Sometimes idiot trolls come into the picture. Sometimes ignorant fools come into the picture. Now, if the respondant is particularly vile and disrupting the discussion, I will report. But if a person is nasty and does not disrupt the discussion, I won't report, even though I could. Here is the reason: I think everyone should see what a jerk the person really is. I also hate going back to discussions and see myself arguing with myself. LOL. So what about you? What lengths does a respondant have to go to before you report their replies?

I totaly agree. Sometimes when I hear that particularily vile peice of garbage has been posted and the MyLotters are all a-buzzing about, I go in search of said comment and am often saddly informaed that the post had been removed. I have to work extra hard to keep up on the drama because I;m so oblivious most of the time. I think I'm on the D list for drama alerts. This actually happened with a discussion of YOURS I had been working with. I was argueing with that Saikyo nut and he has since been banned and all his posts deleted. Now it looks like I'm just posting randomly on your discussion LOL. Hey I may be a Gemini but there ARE limits to my split personalities. All of my personalities USUALLY agree with each other LOL!

Actually, that's my reason for starting this discussion. You are such an inspiration to me. I looked and saw you challenging yourself. It took me a second to realize that he was gone. LOL. Blonde moment.

Yes, I just recently wrote a post asking for people who knew what happened to oneandonemakesix . I was saddened to her that as active as she was here that she has left due to all of the drama and attacks on her. My lot should not be allowing this and I hope that she will soon return.

I also hate going back to discussions and see myself arguing with myself. LOL LMFAO see now i find that highly entertaining at times...I very rarely report ppl adn those times that I do its because the person is being beyond rude or cheating like you said and even those times are like I said, rare for me..

I generally won't report rudeness. I guess with the discussions that I am usually involved in, if I reported rude people, there would be very little of the discussion left. LOL

The one time I went on a reporting spree was when this one person was responding to every single discussion he could find that he did not already hit with the exact same copy & paste line of, "I don't understand what you are asking. Please include more details in your discussion." The last one I ended up reporting on that guy seemed to have made his response disappear. Upon further investigation, his list of discussions he replied to was empty. Copy & paste stuff - especially if someone starts a discussion by copying & pasting someone else's discussion - also gets reported by me. Some people just lack diplomacy. Quite often, I have seen flame wara happen here, & some of the things that people dish out at each other, you just can't help but laugh.

I always report the copy and pasters when I find them. One guy was stupid enough to paste the actual discussion into one of his replies to that discussion. It was laugable.

we all have different opinion and if a person don,t agree with you are what you are saying is it fair to report as disrupting discussion. why waste your time reporting cheaters mylot will find out who doing the cheating and correct it. as a child,i learn to my your own business and speak when you are spoken too iam sure my lot has a handle on what goes on here without our help but if you feel the need then i guess you can.

Either you didn't read or you didn't understand. If a person disagrees with me or even argues with me, I will NOT report them. I only report if a person is cheating or disrupting the discussion. By the way, cheating hurts everyone. It pi$ses me off when I take time and thought to write a discussion or reply and then see some idiot copying the same discussion as if it's their own. It's not only disrespectful but it's also illegal. I hope you are not involved in these idiocies.

Yes , I agree. I have had a couple of "trolls" respond to my topics and the topic gets heated. I try not to report it although at one time I did. I reported someone when they were dogging me for being unmarried and pregnant. I did report this person and I think that others that responded to my post did too. Sometimes it is better to just let them be but in my case this person was responding to all of my posts with nasty responses and was getting my posts deleted.

Also, not only was this person affecting my earning but others when he kept getting my post deleted .

Yeah, and that's what I meant by disrupting the discussion. Some have come into my discussions making statements that just take away from everything.

I have found that actually a negative comment will actually boost your ratings and give you more posts! So just let the trolls do what they feel they need to do. I think that sometime they actually make more earnings for us because a lot more people get involved with discussion. I just do not like it when they get all personal and verbally violent!

You have a very good point there, cyn. Very good indeed. Leave the poor taste posts to reveal to everyone what a JERK the person really is. I like it!

I had a respondant in a gay themed discussion suggest to me, after knowing that my son and 3 males in my family are gay, that the sooner all gay men die from aids, the better the world will be. Even this, I did not report. My thought is that his "friends" should know what an idiot he is. Letting it stay is better I think.

What pisses me off, Irish, is that I can't get over it. I think it almost a year ago and it still makes me fume. But I didn't report it.

What a real, true JERK, eh. Hmpff. I didn't think that 1 person reporting a post would get it deleted. I just figured that we were letting mylot know and they would compile information on the person. I thought maybe that it would affect their ratings, too, or something. But I have seen people complaint that their post disappeared and it must have been one person. So, now I'm not sure. But, nonetheless, I'm adopting your philosophy. I think you are right. This site is about opinions, yay or nay. How can we judge who we are interacting with if all of their bad behaviour disappears.
