Movies are as diverse as the people that go to watch them. I think it's interesting to know why some movies appeal to a certain audience and why those same movies are of completely no interest to another audience. For example, I am a big science fiction and horror movie fan. One of my best friends hates both genres...now we get along great, but we never go to see movies simply because there is no common interest. He's all about action and comedy, which I think is okay, but don't go out of my way for.
I will start this off with my list:
5.) Spiderman 2: While I liked all 3 Spiderman movies, I like the tension between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson in this one. I also love the reveal at the end when Mary Jane discovers the truth about Peter. In addition, the movie just has some amazing action scenes and a really great storyline.
4.) Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home: Again, big fan of the franchise as a whole, but Star Trek IV just really nailed it for me. When the crew of the late Enterprise goes back in time to rescue some whales, their antics in 20th century San Francisco are priceless. The movie had the perfect balance of action, comedy and adventure.
3.) Shawshank Redemption: Wow, what an amazing movie. I realize this goes outside the box of the genres I listed above, but this movie is just in a league of it's own. I cannot get enough of this film and will find myself watching it again and again and again, no matter how many times I've seen it. It can be on television at 1 in the morning and I get sucked in. Movie making at it's finest.
2.) Contact: This movie was profoundly moving to me. It asked some tough questions, and yet it was done without being preachy. It is an amazing movie about discovery of self, about pursuing passions, about asking tough questions that have no real answers...but even more so, it's a sweeping story of conspiracy, exploration and discovery. Jodie Foster was awesome in this film.
1.) The Fog: I am sure everyone is going, um...what? The original "The Fog" directed by John Carpenter remains a timeless classic for me. I saw it for the first time when I was in high school and I absolutely loved it. It's not scary, exactly, nor is it a high brow suspense story...it's just a genuine good ol' ghost story about a hidden treasure and vengeful spirits returning to exact revenge on those that murdered them a century before. For me, this movie comes about as close as any horror movie ever has to really creating a great ghost story.
Okay, so now it's your turn...no boundaries and no guidelines...share as much or as little as you'd like...just want to know your five favorite movies of all time...anything else you care to add would just be icing on the cake.

Ok, so here is my list:
5. Terminator 2-Awesome action, awesome story and it's when Arnold was in his prime!
4. The Dark Knight- Only number four you say? Lol. Well this movie had it all and I absolutely love the spin they are putting on Batman. The Joker was awesome (R.I.P. Heath) but I felt that the movie was a bit too long, although I did see it three times. Lol.
3. Jurassic Park- I will never forget the first time I saw it. I was 9 years old and it was unlike any other movie I'd ever seen. Being a huge fan of dinosaurs and all things animal as a kid (and now) it will be a movie that always holds a place in my heart.
2. Transformers- Who ever thought that this would become a hit movie? It was great! Action was non-stop and the transformers themselves looked really good. I cannot wait until part two.
1. Spiderman 2- I am the biggest Spiderman fan I know and so this is really no surprise, but Spiderman 2 stands out as a comic book film. You couldn't ask for a better story, action, romance or just plain fun from a movie. I have to admit I ddin't really enjoy part 3 because of all of the subplots, but I will forever be a fan of Spiderman...

Wow, great list. Yeah, I am with you about Spiderman 2. I loved all 3 movies as well but, like you, got hung up a little in all the subplots of Spiderman 3, not to mention I didn't like the direction that the relationship between Peter and Mary Jane went. It was still good movie and I am definitely a fan, but number 2 reigns at the top of my list of Spiderman movies.

The top one of my list is Notting Hill. Films about love are my favourite ones for I am so romatic that I am always looking forward to a pretty love. Owing to that, I am still single as the love I want is not always exit in the world. The another reason why I prefer this movie is Julia, the actress in this film. She is pretty and elegant and she is the type of I love, I like her very much.
The next film I like most is English Patient which tells a story happened in the Sahara Desert. The screen of the desert is so pretty that I am soon addicted in it.
I am sorry that I have not figure out five favorite movies, but I will give my response whenever I remember them.

Ok, I have way more than 5 but I'll try, these are not in order.
1. Wizard of Oz, this was my favorite movie as a kid and I still love it, it is probably the movie I have seen the most. I just love the message this movie has.
2. The Notebook, yeah, I know chick flick but I'm a chick, lol. This has got to be the greatest love story of all time. I love it so much and the end gets me every time.
3. Blood Diamond, I love this show. I love movies that make you think and become aware of something like this movie does.
4. The Departed, now usually an abundance of swearing in movies bugs me but I love this movie. I love all the twist and turns, and it has amazing acting. I think Leonardo DiCaprio's performance is stellar in it.
5. The Last King of Scotland, another movie based on real events with a killer performance by Forrest Whitaker. The movie is based on the events of the brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin's regime as seen through the eyes of his personal doctor. Forrest Whitaker did such an amazing job as Idi Amin, that I read that there were Ugandan people watching the filming and were literally terrified at first because they thought it was Idi Amin risen to torture them from the grave!
There are so many more that I love but those are the ones that I'm going with. I love Shawshank Redemption too, that is a great movie.

Here some of mine:
1) The Terminator and Terminator 2: I absolutely love these movies and The Terminator is my favorite movie franchise (despite T3 being not so great). I always loved the future scenes in the movies. The fact that the upcoming Terminator movie will be set during the war makes me happy. I just hope it's going to be a lot better than T3 and they don't continue the lame parody like events T3 had.
2) Darkman: I love superhero (or in this case, anti-hero) movies. Especially ones that are like this. Just a good action movie.
3) The Princess Bride: I always feel like someone will laugh that this is one of my favorite movies, being I'm a guy. But I just absolutely love this movie. Just makes me feel happy lol. And Andre the Giant is in it, which makes the movie that much better. It's a pretty good movie.
Well, there are four of my favorite movies. Can't really quite place my finger on why their some of my favorites more than I tried though.

this discussion is a tough one..
i love watching movies and there's a ton of

5.KARATE KID 1
Ralph Machio....He is so cute...
He was beaten, but he believed in himself..

no matter how many bumps and bruises you encounter in life,
we should always try to stand..
as the late Aaliyah said
"dust it all off and try again"
4.JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH
this movie is a new one which stars Brendan Frasier..
The quest to find the truth on the lost of his brother..
the goal to prove that there is a world inside our world..
this thought me that you should not end in believing..
you should prove that it's worth believing at..
the part that i liked most was when they were sliding down Mt. Vesuvius
They damaged the farmers plants but gave him a diamond as payment for the damages..
Turns out they got a bag full of diamonds from beneath the earth..
The farmers, who was very much delighted, told them that they could
slide again if they want to..
3. I'VE FALLEN FOR YOU
This is a local movie here in the Philippines..
It starts Gerald Anderson and Kim Chu..
the two had the same name..
it turns out that Kim's father and Gerald's mother
were sweethearts way back..
They had conflicts to face, but as expected, triumphed it all..
The story teaches us of young love..
i encourage parents to watch it..
they will understand their children more
if they see what young adults are going through..
2.A WALK TO REMEMBER
I don't want to elaborate much on these because i'll end up
watching the film again and would cry my heart out over and over again..
In these movie, you'll know how to be in two places at the same time..
Mandy Moore can really act..
1.TRIPLE TIED AT NO.1 ARE
AZUMI 1 & 2

i feel empowered every time i watch them..
NAKED WEAPON - this story is about charlene a trained assasin..

top 5 movies for me: (in no particular order)
1. independence day - i like sci-fi movies and this actually fascinated me. made me wonder what would happen if aliens did invade the earth. what are we going to do?
2. first encounter of the third kind - like the first one. what would happen if you were abducted by aliens? and these aliens were here for so long but never really know where they are?
3. brother bear - this cartoons really made me cry. i mean, this bear is willing to give up his humanity to be with a cub who needs him more than his real brother. i dont know if i could give up like that.
4. the day after tomorrow - made me realize how precious our earth is.
5. final destination - i always wanted to have psychic ability. :)
