Forget Sam and Julia...

I'm not interested in Sam's and Julia's gay daughter. I'm interested in what effect gay unions will have on children. I know from personal experience how difficult it is for someone to be kept from their biological parents and to be raised in a confused environment. The abandonment issues it all creates. I will do everything I can to protect children from this lifestyle. I think the gay and lesbian community are only thinking about themselves and have little to no regard for what their selfishness does to others. I am firmly voting for Prop 8.
And don't bother telling me all the sob stories for this lifestyle. I don't buy any of it. A black person has no choice in who they are. I don't believe for a moment that someone who lives a homosexual lifestyle is born that way or doesn't have a choice. I don't buy it.

I suspect that the parents' demeanor towards the children, ie whether it is loving, there is discipline, time spent with the children, etc., is far more important than their sexuality. But it would be great to hear from some people who were actually raised by gay parents.

You might have to wait a while. But my bet is they'll turn just fine [like the rest of us].

Not shameful, what I would expect given the assumption that the parents have a 'normal' loving relationship. If it were an abusive relationship I would assume the kids would be screwed up, same as in a heterosexual one that were that way.

You're simply wrong. Homosexuality is NOT a lifestyle choice. People are born gay.
I don't remember whether it's Iran or Egypt, but one of these county's leaders last year came out with the wonderful line:
"Homosexuality is not an issue in [Egypt/Iran]; we do not have this phenomenon". Love it!
