It seems like the best way to get free money from the government at the present is to be a failing bank....When the economy is good, you cash in from easy money you can charge your customers....When the economy crash's and you are failing because you have not regulated bonus payments and not been prudent with your profits, then the government comes along ang gives you stacks of taxpayers cash so that you can carry on...

These are strange times we live in aren't they? You can sue and get rich if you trespass and go on someone else's property and trip over their "Posted" sign. It seems like they are blackmailing our government and at times I say let's just let them fall and see what happens. It's an awful mess, I'm believing we will emerge stronger than ever from it.

Unfortunatly you are right...It certainly appears that a small mistake can be more costly that if you committed a serious crime. The law is nuts...

I know how you feel and this has been bugging me more and more lately too. Especially all the hype over here in England about taxpayers money helping support banks in their hour of financial crisis. I thought 'tax' was supposed to contribute towards rubbish collections and go to councils who'll make our society a better place...not just an extra hand to the banks to help them out of the myer they got themselves into by offering too much money on credit! It's not entirely the banks fault I suppose though when you look at it. I mean I know they offered a hell of a lot of money on credit and mortgages at ridiculous rates but the customers who take them up on these offers can also be to blame.

Tax is also used for making the politicians very comfortable, paying for their sky TV. £300 rugs for their second homes £100's for their new T.V's and unlike any business which they insist is accountable for it's expenditure, the M.P's don't even have to hand in receipts for these expenses.
