Why are there so many beggars? What do you tell them when they come begging to you?

That truly makes sense! Begging for 'money' should really be discouraged, I feel.

Beggars! Some people beg for money, some people beg for food, some people beg for love, Some people beg for mercy.......and the life goes on.
My dear Rajesh from Palakkad, there was an Engineer beggar in Dubai, who used to beg after finishing regular job at an office. The Dubai police arrested him and sent back to his country.
Yes, we have many and the I think the reason is the social disparity, lack of education, lack of social awareness, lack of job opportunities.....Every thing put together we can say the lack of national leaders in politics with great vision to eradicate poverty.
Do we have time to think of the downtrodden? No! They will get formed day by day, when at one side rich will become more richer..... If I continue saying you will tag me 'Red'
only mylotting! (no happy mylotting)

That was a disgusting story about the "engineer who begged"! Let me hope he was just having fun. He must be having pleasure begging for money. Anyways...it sure is a topic that can be eloborated to any extent.I just thought of knowing how people usually react to it. Thanks and indeed happy mylotting

I also noticed that. Poverty is really prevalent now.
Whenever I see them, I actually feel grateful that I
can eat 3 times a day, educated in a good school
and can buy some of the things that I want or need.
But I'm sad that they have to undergo those sufferings.
Whenever beggars approach me, I give them food rather
than money for we don't know how they will use it.
I also prefer giving to those street children since they
are more in need than those adult beggars who can
actually work if they want to.

Hello,Rajesh! The economic conditions of our people is so miserable that they have no option but to beg alms for their living. These people have no landed property, they were doing some works for wage and managing their livelihood. But when they became old they are thrown out of home by their sons and daughters.A majority of them were of this category. And a few others are invalid people who are begging because they can't work. But these days the number of beggars have reduced perhaps due to government measures to help the poor and destitute. However more has to be done for total elimination of beggars for the society.thanx.

Thanks for replying. But what do you say to the beggars? Or do you simply give away whatever you can give? Even if you find them healthy and fit to work?
