the Bible is the most important book in the world. For it is the only book that can take us from darkness to light, it rescues us from the power of Satan and transfers us to the power of Jesus. It is the only book that can bring wisdom to our life, hope for our family and a wide scope of eternal glory. The Bible transforms us!!!

This book has caused fathers and mothers to shed the blood of their babes. This book was the auction block on which the slave-mother stood when she was sold from her child. This book filled the sails of the slave-trader and made merchandise of human flesh. This book lighted the fires that burned "witches" and "wizards." This book filled the darkness with ghouls and ghosts, and the bodies of men and women with devils. This book polluted the souls of men with the infamous dogma of eternal pain. This book made credulity the greatest of virtues, and investigation the greatest of crimes. This book filled nations with hermits, monks and nuns -- with the pious and the useless. This book placed the ignorant and unclean saint above the philosopher and philanthropist. This book taught man to despise the joys of this life, that he might be happy in another -- to waste this world for the sake of the next. This book is the enemy of human liberty -- the greatest obstruction across the highway of human progress. Let me ask the ministers one question: How can you be wicked enough to defend this book?

The bible is important if you believe in it. And it would be considered the most important book in the world only by christians, not by muslims, buddhists, or people of other religions. If it makes you happy, fine. For me, it's pretty boring reading, and has nothing much of value to say.

the bible is a nice guide in life, i also consider it as a law book.. because it contains alot of rules and laws that we should follow.. however it is manmade, and some of the things written on it are historical and some are storyies.. (history remembered and history interpreted book)...

The act of murder is rampant in the Bible. In much of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, there are laws that command that people be killed for absurd reasons such as working on the Sabbath, being gay, cursing your parents, or not being a virgin on your wedding night. In addition to these crazy and immoral laws, there are plenty of examples of God's irrationality by his direct killing of many people for reasons that defy any rational explanation such as killing children who make fun of bald people, and the killing of a man who tried to keep the ark of God from falling during transport. There are also countless examples of mass murders commanded by God, including the murder of women, infants, and children.

Why do people try to wiggle out of the inconvenient truth of the Old Testament Laws When Jesus himself said that he had come to uphold them? Matt 5:17-18: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. You either believe in all of the Bible or none of it.

The very reason that the bible is divided into two testaments or covenants means you have to read it through from the start to end to be able to grasp it context and understand the whole picture. I am not saying I know everything about it, but only what the holy spirit has inspired. First about the commanding of killing by God of people for absurd reasons i.e.working on the sabbath etc- the sabbath was created for our rest benefiting us humans not God, commanding of killing when one violated the commandment is telling us that it must be followed as God willed so, its our obedience and trust to him that God is after. The very first moral laws has something to do with the Israelites welfare and for their own well being. And on your other concerns, with the killing of children and of man, God is a holy God, no unholy things can touch him, so one must be very sure that he is appointed to do the task before getting near the ark, because the Ark itself represents the very presence of the Holy God. The mass murder of the people is due to their idolatry and disobedience, and the detestable deeds they are doing against their neighbor and against God If you have just finished reading it till the New Testament, you would know that when the Lord Jesus has came, he abolished the laws and put in place two greatest commandments. First and above all- Love the Lord your God with all your mind, with all your soul, with all your strength.Second, Love your neighbor as you love yourself. With these law in place, humanity will always be guided by them.

I try to read my Bible everyday. It is the book of life and what's amazing to me is that everything that is going on now, went on back then. Every life's situation is in the Bible. Moses was a murderer but made it to Heaven through his faith and dedication to God. Look at Paul, he was totally against God and Jesus but God made him "see the light" I would say and wrote a lot of the books in the Bible. God is good and the Bible is wonderful!! Take care and God Bless!

Paul never met Jesus not even once, yet wrote a lot of books on Jesus. Was he inspired or got his information locally?.

yes indeed he was against Jesus before his conversion...but when paul met the Lord at the road of Damascus he was transformed into new a person. paul was just radical to what he believe was right..his heart was for God actually..that's the reason why he was given a chance to see the light of Jesus to be a person that never before. thank u.

In a world of relativism, the Bible talks in terms of right and wrong, good and bad, yes and no, true and false. In a world we're encouraged to do it "If it feels good," the Bible addresses that which is sinful and holy. Scripture(Bible) never leaves us with a bewildered look on our faces, wondering about the issues of life. it says, "This is the way it is. That is the way it is not to be. This is the way to walk; do not walk there," it tells us straight. It provides the kind of solid foundation you and I need.
