Are you fed up with outrageous TV ads?

I saw an ad today that I haven't seen in a long while. The woman had prepared herself some pizza rolls in the microwave and set them on the cabinet. This kid's fist smashes through the wall and a hand grabs the rolls and the kid says "thanks Mom". What does Mom do? Looks a little astonished and says "well OK haha OK".
It's NOT OK! The kid could have asked! and punching a hole in the wall is CERTAINLY not OK. This ad is telling kids this is the way to get Mom's approval! Kids are left to watch TV for hours at a time on their own. No wonder kids today are so selfcentered and have such bad attitudes!
So what TV ads do you think send children a bad message?

I really doubt kids are going to get destructive tendencies from watching this because they think it'll get approval, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're not so polite.
In any case, as long as their parents teach them manners I wouldn't worry. What person is more influenced by TV than real people?

I would be offended by that statement but you have a point. I was influcence by tv because I didn't live near to anyone when I was growing up.

What person is more influenced by TV than real people? The children whose main "babysitter" is a TV set and whose parents don't bother to take time to teach their children manners and acceptable social behavior. Sadly, there are a lot of them.

I think all commericals send bad messages to everyone. There are a whole bunch of commercials that make it look like women are happy to cook for their husbands, do the dishes, clean the house and do the laundry. GET REAL. If a guy expects me to do those things all of the time and to be happy about it, than he can just kiss my butt 'cuz I'm not doing it.

I think there are a lot of commercials that send bad messages. The ideas that you will be made happy if you just buy this item, or you can get thin by eating this particular food seem silly but after a while people get used to them and don't even think about it. It seems irresponsible.

I've never seen this commercial. I don't have a TV here in Canada, but when I was in the USA last year, we had TV. I agree with you that a lot of the commercials I saw while there were way over the top. They didn't make a bit of sense to me, and like you said, they give TV-bound kids a really bad message.

gosh - I had a totally different take on that.
I never suspected she was making them for herself, I figured they were for the kid, and the busting the wall down was what was unexpected.
And he did say Thanks.
Not quite the standing up and thanking the mom for fixing the chicken - but better than most kids are in reality from my observation.

I don't think they send a bad message at all bead.
What I am concerned about more are the tv shows, not the commercials.
By the way, that pizza roll commercial reminds me of the kool aid one where the kool aid guy crashes through the wall.
