What is your favorite NEWS single?

NEWS - Hoshi wo Mezashite - This is the cover of NEWS' single, Hoshi wo Mezashite. Released in 2007, Hoshi wo Mezashite marked NEWS' re-debut, after over 8 mos. of hiatus.

I love all of their singles but, if I had to choose, I'd say my favorite would be Hoshi wo Mezashite, not only because that was what got me into the NEWS fandom, but because I think that, of all their songs, this one was the most meaningful. It was the first single they released after their hiatus and I don't think that there would be a more fitting song for what they've been through than this. Lines like, once you die, you are reborn still give me goosebumps of the good kind. Actually, the entire song gives me goosebumps of a good kind. Also, I think this song means a lot to the members. I think it was Koyama who explained how the lyrics of the chorus, minna iru kai (Is everyone here?), relate to their feelings of being reunited. Oh, and did I mention that NEWS sound absolutely divine performing this song. Their a capella performance of the song's chorus during one of their Music Station appearances was just... breathtaking. And I don't think that's just me being biased. The side tracks are also cool. I just love BEST FRIEND (and I'm in love with the line "this may not be any place special but I always want to be right here") and BOOM!BOOM! POWER and Akai Hana. So yeah... How about you? I know there aren't that many NEWS fans here on myLot but for those who are, what is your favorite single?

i agreee with you! OMG! thanks for saying all that xD thats eacetly what i think! "NEWS sound absolutely divine performing Hoshi wo Mezashite" hahaha! i love that. BEST FRIEND is such a sweet song i wrote the lyrics down couple-o times for my friends! BOOM!BOOM!POWER! makes me wanna get up and dance! xD and Massu's rope thing in the concert was just too awesome! its a song that wakes me up and makes me energized. Akai Hana~ i havent listened to it much though, i dont know why.. ill start now ^^ and give u my comment on that song! but to answer your question, i love almost all their singles! it's VERY hard to choose a favourite..

*lol* NEWS have such awesome songs. And yes, I do end up quoting lyrics too, for most of them. Akai Hana is cool. I love the transition and think it would've been awesome if they made a PV for it. *lol* Hoshi we Mezashite has such a varied song choice. It's almost like a mini-album.

Come to think of it, I don't have the best single in mind because for me they are all equal. Then again, reading your opinion, i totally agree with you. I really like Hoshi wo Mezashite and the feeling it gives me whenever I hear the song. I also like its side tracks like Best Friend that i first heard when i was watching the NEWS DVD where it was played at the end of the concert. Best friend is really nice and the message that it conveys.

Hi there. It's nice to meet NEWS fans on myLot so I added you back. I loved Best Friend beginning when I watched their performance at the end of NEWS DVD. I'm quite a fan of Koyama and Massu (especially Massu) and I found them really cute in that particular portion. Anyway, welcome to myLot and I hope we could make this category more active.

I love NEWS too. But since I'm not Japanese seeing their concert is a little hard for me unless I go to Japan. But I can't do that. I only know a little Japanese words. And it is still hard for me to make complete sentences.

I really like Summer Time, actually. It has a really nice feel to it which is both calming and uplifting. A very relaxing song, overall. I'm also quite fond of Hoshi wo Mezashite and Best Friend. It really is quite beautiful. weeeek is really fun, too

Hi there. I like the feel of SUMMER TIME too. I really like the whole looking-forward-to-meeting-your-special-someone-again thing. Also, the melody is easy on the ears and, as you said, uplifting. weeeek is fun and energizing and something I make a point to listen to at the start of every work week. Thanks for your response.

I like summertime too. The atmosphere of the song is so breezy and playful. They all look so good :D

My favorite would be summertime. I like the beat and they all look good. I think it is different from their other songs. There is less dance steps in there. And I like the playful aura in the mv. I'm also a fan. And right now I'm listening to news songs. :D
