I know Christmas Cards, Hanukkah, New Years and Valentines are popular but I wondered about Halloween. I am not even a card person and its not because I do not want to be but I just get behind writing and preparing them (printing phots to include, handwriting letters) and before I knwo it Im too late. Im probably the only person who sends late XMAS card, Lol.
I am making a bigger effort this year and Im actually going to prepare them months ahead of time, which is not hard to do these days with stores bringing out seasonals earlier and earlier.
I went out to Rite-Aid (a pharmacy store) and found a pack of really nice Halloween cards in a pack of 8--perfect!
They were funny and cute pics of pets in Halloween costumes, so cute. I really like the unconvential holidays because I wouldnt normally EXPECT a Halloween card, you know, its special I think and now that I have kids its really a lot funner to do it. I mean to prepare cards because I have only ever sent new years and xmas cards in the past all late and wrong.
Did having kids change make you a better Card giver, lol?I think now I am more
willing to stop setting the standards so high and having to handwrite letters to
everyone in the family, its just too much work, so now Im going to do what I can
and if I just cannot keep up a family snapshot and a signed card will be enough
this year, what about you?

I usually send animated e-cards for Halloween anymore. I used to buy cards for all occasions, but life is so hectic and there is so much going on with life, family, work, chores, etc. that I send just a few cards anymore, and at least once a year (usually at Christmas) do a big yearly catch up letter and send it to family and friends along with pictures of family/kids/etc -- at least I can do the "old fashioned" letter writing one time a year. The rest of the year I send e-cards ( I just love the animated ones!) for all sorts of events, and just because ~ haha
It is nice to get a real card in the mail, or a real letter, but I just cannot keep up with this as often as I'd like. I did see some great new Christmas cards in the store the other day . . . . I do get a bit extravagent with these as I send so few cards during the year -- I splurge a little for a great holiday card.

yea, thats exactly how I was until this year, I loved sending envelopes stuffed with everything to the family and last year I actually got letters back which was a great suprise, I think everyone is struggling with time so I understand.

Yes, time seems to get shorter all the time! That's why I make a special effort at least at Christmas time -- I put alot into my family update letter using special papers and holiday stickers and such and including recent photo's with holiday trim around them -- it's kind of like a present in an envelope! lol

I like cards. In a bookstore I would browse all the cards but I never send any. There are some cards that are so clever. I like receiving cards though. Cheers!!

your soo right, I love looking through the cards at Borders Books their made by PaperChase and they are so funny sometimes or they just look more handmade with more embellishment or during the xmas time they shine way more than the cards your see in your average Hallmark store or maybe you just want sometime less mainstream and more alternative, they've got it. I think Paperchase sells online too, I might check it out a few times this year. I have always liked spending the extra couple dollars to buy Unicef greeting cards because they are original and I think they have a art deco look to them sometimes.

I only send out cards for Christmas. It gets expensive sending out for each and every holiday.

I'm not much of a card sending person. At least not for Halloween. Well, I guess maybe I am if you count e-cards. Then I've sent a lot of those out over the years to friends and family. I don't think I've ever sent a physical paper one out though. I might have given some out as a kid during Halloween for class parties in elementary school, but I don't really remember back then very well.
