A few years ago my older three boys came into the house and I hear the words, "Shhh... don't let Mom see." (Never good words to hear coming from your children's mouths). So, of course I go over to investigate, and I see that they have a good sized dog with them.
We ended up taking her around the neighborhood, and no one claimed her, and she never left, so we ended up with a new dog.
Have you ever adopted a stray?

One day my children were out front of our house riding their bicycles. This huge mangy wolf looking dog came walking up to my son. Since I didn't know anything about the dog I ordered my son to stand still. I walked slowly towards my son, the dog just stood there perfectly still. As I stood next to my son the dog laid down at my feet as if to surrender. This was about a year ago. Cujo is a 125 pound Northern Inuit. He is like a big cuddly teddy bear that we love dearly.
We have a total of five dogs that we have adopted over the years, A Brittany Spaniel that the breder couldn't sell because he had a defect. IF my husband hadn't adopted him the owner was going to have him put down. We have two German Shepards mixed that we adopted from the Humane Society. Last but not less we have an English Setter that we adopted from the dog pound. The English Setter had heartworms.
There isn't anything that we wouldn't do for any one of our furry family members.

My uncle in the province was walking home after a storm from his office when he passed on a small overflown river and he saw a dog struggling not to take away by the strong current. out of pity, he grabbed the dog and pulled it out from the water. Then he saw that its a big dog and its a german shepherd! fearing that the owner might be looking for it, he let it go but to his surprise, the dog was following him! no matter how he pushes the dog away, it will stop but then after a while the dog is already beside him walking home. ANd when he showed up in the door with a dog, his kids love it instantly. They posted a picture on the dog on the local pet store but no one claimed it,so they got an instant dog that is so bubbly and sweet.

We have adopted a stray before but it wasnt my fault. When I was a kid someone brought a dog to our house because we had dogs that looked similar. Nobody ever claimed the dog and to this day my grandmother still has the dog. She was a really sweet dog. Bassett and daschund mix is what the vet said. My sister in law picks up everything that even looks like a stray she is forever trying to place animals in new homes and such. She is crazy I swear.
