hi to everyone!
do you sometimes feel try to new things? me im am having a hard time trying on new things when it comes to food because i fear that i might be spending on to something that will not help overcome my hunger. i always order the same food and when my boyfriend or a friend of mine orders something new, what i do is take a bite of the meal the person has ordered for me to know whether i'll be loving it or not.
how about you? are you adventurous or do you stick on the things that you usually do?
happy posting and happy mylotting!

well, it depends... in terms of food; i love very much to taste different stuff.. but in terms of electronic or design stuff; it depends on the method itself..for example; i'm a member of Facebook, these days the mangers of the site have changed the design of the site so it become crap and disorganized.. so, such changes i do hate it very much coz it has changed the system of my thinking negatively but i got no choice except to either accept the design and get through it or delete my profile. but of course i cannot delete my profile coz i have friends there...
anyhow, the changes are actually based on what is gonna be changed..in the top of that, i do love to have some changes that can fit myself with...

really? you didn't like its layout? well not all suites the taste of a user. at least you accept some changes in whatever instances it may be.

well, in terms of its layout is not that helpful to me..coz it has changed the system and the design of the home page, profile and etc... although, it has simplified some stuff and added new areas. yet, it is still quite complicating and it takes few minutes to get what the thing that i'm looking for...
in between, it seems like u do have a profile in facebook, don't you! coz the way u responsed showed to me that u got surprised or a bit shocked on what i have commented about facebook as an example of changes that i dont really like...
well, if you do have, then hope we can be friends in facebook as well ;p
have a good day,

i am love exploring when it comes to food. but i only try soemthing i dont know alone. if i go out with my children i buy what they want to eat. but if i am alone i buy something new. if i dont get satisfied or didnt like the food then i wont try it again. but if i like the food i even let my children taste it. my first born is quite adventurous too and he loves trying food that is new to his eyes.

HI skbh,
I am very adventurous when it comes to food! I want to try always something new and something that I haven't tasted yet! LOL!
And when I can't eat it all, I will always take it out so not to waste the food!
Anyway, at least your bf is opposite so, you can just experiment his order and next time you have an idea to try it and he will try another new! LOL!

haha!! yup you are right. that is what i do. that is why when we eat in a food court or in a restaurant, he would ask me first what i will be ordering and when i was able to choose my meal that is the time he will ordering his. if he didn't like what he ordered, he would ask the waiter to wrap it up and give it to her eldest sister.

not really, i am not the type to really try out new stuff. we are the kinds who are scared of change, something new. nothing really wrong with it, but it sometimes does make a diff to making decisions in out real life too...changeis good and trying new things too.

yeah. i agree to your statement. we may not be that confident to try new things in life. it is just the matter of us not ready yet to plunge in to something new.

I love trying new things. I think that began when I was a teen and used to go to a seafood buffet with my boyfriend and his family every Sunday after church. The buffet had everything you can think of in the way of seafood, but his family always stuck to the same things. Not me. I tried everything on the buffet. (Not all in the same day.) Ever since then, I've enjoyed trying different foods. I particularly like Chinese restaurants, because they often have sampling meals that will allow you to try a few different foods. Or...it's easier to share foods with friends and relatives there. But even at a restaurant known for the best burgers in town, I'll try something different. While everyone else is enjoying a regular cheeseburger, I'll pick having swiss cheese and mushrooms instead.

I have always been very conservative with food while wishing I were more adventurous. While growing up, the food we ate at home was pretty basic and mostly the same things - for example we never ever ate Chinese or Indian...pasta was about as exotic as it got. Consequently I became used to eating the same things over and over.
When I went to university I carried on with this pattern, partly out of habit and partly because I didn't want to risk wasting money trying something that I might not like! I still feel this way now.
My husband comes from a family of foodies, who will try most things and they have always eaten Chinese food regularly. So when I went round for a meal for the first time and they asked me what I wanted from the takeaway I had no idea, but was terrified by all the different sauces and cooking styles - so unlike the sausages and chips that I'd grown up with!! If I remember correctly, I had crispy duck with pancakes (which is still my favourite dish) as it was the closest to what I would normally eat and was unadventurous on the spices/flavours side of things.
Within the last year or so though, I have been gripped by a desire to try new things and have so far learnt that I like: lasagne, fajitas, coleslaw, scampi and gravy, among other things (and not all at the same time!). These may seem normal to most people but I've spent so long convincing myself that I won't like them that I never actually tried them! We are branching out into cooking our own Chinese food at the moment, as I think that if I can see what has gone into something (and choose to leave out things that I really do hate, such as mushrooms) then I'm more likely to eat it.
So far it's going well, so I'm confident that in the future I won't be quite as much of a picky eater as I am now and will be able to go to restaurants without having to worry that there won't be anything on the menu for me to eat!
Best wishes,
T :o)

wow.. really? you are fortunated because you don't think about the money you'll be spending onto something. that is what sticks to my mind always. hahaha! i think of the money and tell myself, "what if it doesn't taste good, then the money ill be buying for this will go to nothing." how i wish i am like you. not afraid to try new things.

Yes, it is always better you have a basic idea of what a particular dish might be. The best way to find out about a dish is to ask personally someone you know has a similar sense of taste as you. Usually when you are chatting with friends, others about cuisines, people will tell you of some dish which is totally unknown to you; this is the time to jump in, pose questions and learn more regarding the particular cuisine. The next time you get a chance, order the dish confidently as you know somewhat at least what it will be like to look, taste and allay your appetite.
I, personally, am not that adventurous, to say so. I rarely try new things out when I'm paying myself, which is most often - because I want to ensure my money is not to be wasted, afterall.

hi, this is an interesting question! i notice notice it till you started this topic. well, regarding food, i found that i usually order the same menu for my daily lunch, in the same eatery. the owner even don't ask me anymore when i come for my lunch. he or his assistant directly serve my usual food and drink, feeling confident that i am ordering the same anyway . sometimes i am feel imposed to their behavior, but, yeah, i eat whatever they serve.
well, for other think, you can say that i am a careful adventurer.
