Public transport?

I don't actually prefer public transport, but at the moment we can't afford to buy and run a car, so I have no choice about using public transport. I do have to say though, that since moving closer to the city, using public transport has become much better. Because of where I live now, I can catch the tram instead of a train. Generally the trams are much cleaner, run more frequently and are rarely cancelled or delayed, unlike the trains.

I prefer to go short distances in a cycle and for long distances by public transport as it is difficult to maintain a bike or car with scanty income.I am a retired person and getting some pension for our subsistence and I can't afford money for the petrol which has become more costly these days.Thanx.
