could the sale of their two star strikers result in their current plight? i was tracking them and was excited by their pre-season signings and acitvities. however, once season start, everything seems to go downhill? coach or player faults?

Juande Ramos can't be blamed solely on this matter. Find out who agree to sell Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov to Liverpool and Man Utd. How the team will banging a goal while their main weapon have been sold? It's true that they make several interesting signing during the pre-season. Gio Dos Santos, david Bentley,Gomes,Luka Modric,Vedran Corluka and the latest Roman Pavluchenko. All of them need some times to gel and create a solid team. The reputation alone cannot help. The important thing now for Totttenham is not to sack Ramos and keep faith with Bentley. Play him in the right position and surely Tottenham will able to break this hoodoo. Modric also a good player, Tottenham must use his vision and his passing ability to break up any defense in the league. Then, they must shore up their defense. Eventhough Gomes is a good goalkeeper, still needs a good defensive line to protect him.

yes. i feel spurs should built a team around modric as he is an excellent player and playmaker. now from what i see, there is no shape in their play and without a proper team shape and direction, it is hard to survive on playing with your heart out in EPL now. u need more brains to play the game

Wasn't this expected of Tottenham? Every year they come up with an improved squad making statements that they have enough depth in their squad and stuff only to disappoint. Especially this year, their starting line-up has been totally revamped.
I mean, I can hardly find any similarity in the team that played last season and the one playing this season. Selling away their strikers berbatov and keane, getting in pavlyuchenko, modric and dos santos. Too many changes in a short span of time.
The team is not gelling quickly enough and the berbatov transfer saga has probably affected their game. Hopefully they'll up their game from here on as things will start to settle down and probably end up mid table by the end of the season like last year.

yes. too many changes in a short space of time is killing them. while i think they are good enough to avoid relegation, i do not think they would be able to get into europe next year. this would mean they would not be attractive enough to attract other quality players and may be forced to sell their more ambitious players.
