I dont get enough sleep

Friends,I am not able to sleep well at nights.I do not know the reasons behind it.I go to bed early so that I can try to sleep early.But I just have to lie with my eyes wide open waiting to fall asleep.I do have anything to think which disturbs me.There is absolutely nothing in mind.But then too, I can't sleep early.I have to wait for 2 hours in bed to fall asleep.I don't take a nap in the noon so that I can sleep well at night.But this also has not helped me.Can anyone suggest me what I should do?

I am the same way. I try to go to bed early. I try to not take naps. But, sometimes I just can't help it. But, I try to avoid it whenever possible! I usually just end up somehow falling asleep eventually and I really don't even know how!

Hi madhuri77, if the situation only happened once a while, then i believe it might due to pressure or something that still buzzing in your head or mind. One of the post mentioned it quite true, try on meditation as that somehow help on get us relax. If the situation is for quite sometimes, is good to consult doctor as that might lead to organs malfunctioning due to not enough rest. Hope your situation get better and all the best to you.

I think practicing mediation or yoga is a proper solution to your problem.There is no medicine to this.Hearing classical music before going to bed is one simple solution to your problem.

I've got/had the same problem as you, and I've tried different ways of trying to fall asleep on a better way. Here are some tips for trying to fall asleep naturally..; 1 Drink warm milk before sleeping this will make you drowsee. 2 Don't keep a single light on, and close your window, and always wear pijama. Because of the warmth it will make you more comfy, and because the lights are off, it doesn't matter if your eyes are open or closed, and will make you fall asleep quicker 3 NEVER shower or eat or drink coffein before you're going to sleep. These things are ofcourse making yoou active, even if you were tired before you wanted to go to bed. Just go straight to your bed, and go to sleep. 4 Wear a nightmask..These usually makes you feel as well comfortable, and is making you closing your eyes, which ofcours, helps with falling asleep. 5 Never do any sports or do heavy work 2/3 hours before you go sleeping, because ok, it's making you exhausted, but not sleepy! You keep from the inside active, and this will as well make you not fall asleep.. 6 Buy some NATURAL sleeping pills at the pharmacy..no doctor perscription needed for those..These pills will help you fall asleep, so are not some kind of hypnosis pills, if you know what I mean and if these tips doesn't work, then you should see your doctor and ask him for some medication against it. If you will do this I would say that you looked up on the internet and spoken with other people about this problem, and that they recommended to you to take, oxazepam, fluntirazepam or lorazepam. I canno help you, I have a very similar problem - but I want to get to sleep early because of getting up at 5am every morning. But I also cannot fall asleep before 2-3am and I'm sleeping too little! Sometimes, if I'm lucky to have free afternoon, I take 3 hour nap, and it doesn't cause anything more. I "make it up" on the weekends. Today I felt asleep at 2am and woke up at 5pm O.o I just wasn't able to get up after so many days of sleeping too little. It's so unhealthly...
