how much do you rate and either you rate positive or negative

to make it fair i always rate all possitive.

My thinking is some thing else in this matter because I am of the opinion that if you have responded to a discussion and the writer has seen your response and he/she feels that your response is the most accurate according to his view he may mark your response as the best response. One thing I will agree that if you can not rate other as best please do not rate in negative also.

I only rate a positive rating to discussions and responses that I participate in. And if I read something that I don't like I just don't rate it at all. I don't like to give a negative rating, instead just nothing. I have only given out a few abuse ratings and only because the person was stalking me and wouldn't leave me alone. I don't bother to give abuse ratings to the people who break the rules and post things that they aren't supposed to, because there are enough people out there doing that and I don't really care to. I don't like to be the one that has caused a discussion to be deleted so I just leave those ones alone and just don't respond to them.

I have only rated neg. once and that was because the person was being spiteful, hateful and mean-spirited toward someone else. Most often if i can't rate positive i don't rate at all. That one was the exception and believe me he deserved it!

I always rate the respose to my discussions and I seldom rate negative. I always give positive rate unless the response is offensive, I would give the negative rate but that is vey seldom.

Hi nutanjain, In your guideline it say never rate negaive unless some one being abusive so in every discussion you do, just give a positive rating. Tamara

I give mostly positive raitings for the effort, but negative ones if someone says something cruel, or offensive.

I prefer to rate someone positive. I don't have nothing to gain by negative rating. I only give negative rating or report users who copy their post from other users. It happened that I read two identical posts in my same thread. Another user just copy and pasted a post from another user.

I NEVER use the negative rating. I don't think it should even exist. What right have we to disrspect someone's opinion no matter how much we disagree? Thgis is a discussion site, not a criticism site. If you haven't got something good to say, say nothing, seems to be a good rule of thumb.
