i was a girl.. now i am lady... hehehe.. .but hands down hardy boys... i have collected over the years like over 100 hardy boys books, whether hardbound, softbound or the mini case files. i only have a handful of nancy drews... those that my parents bought me or someone gave it to me...
hardy boys have been a great part of my reading life while i was growing up. this reminds me to dust off my bookshelves soon...

I was a fan of both. I started reading Hardy Boys because brother started reading them and I think I just got into Nancy Drew on my own. I can still remember the yellow, hardbound covers.

I read a lot of those in my elementary years. But I lean more towards the Hardy Boys mystery, maybe 'cause I somehow got bored of the Nancy Drew ones later. No idea. But I love those where they combine both. I think it was called "Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys Super Mystery" or something like that. Those are more complex, considering how both are needed for the cases.

I have not read much Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mysteries, but I did like them when they were on TV. I do remember the Bobsey Twins when I went to elementary school. Most of the time I got the books from the library and I was more interested in classical. but I was a Tv fan of their shows if that does count in this discussion.

Nancy Drew definitely. I even watched the movie heheh. You know, in my mind, I always had this sort of impression that if you're a boy, you should read Hardy Boys and if you're a girl, then it's Nancy Drew for you. No switching! Hahahah! Well, you proved me wrong!

I devoured the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books when I was a pre-teen/teen. I didn't keep them all (stupid) but have a couple in the house. I am stunned that neither one of my girls have any interest in Nancy Drew. Maybe I should try a little harder with my 12yo because she has yet to find the kind of books she enjoys reading so is not much of a reader.

I never had my own, but I did check out both the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books from the library. I didn't like Nancy's father. It seemed to me that he was too patronizing, as I recall. When I read the Hardy boys, I just pretended one of them was a girl. At an early age I felt frustrated by the fact that the boys in books (just as in real life) got to do all the good stuff.

OMG! I used to read bothe series growing up, as well as THE BObbsey Twins". They were a huge part of my life those books. I can remember wanting to Be Nancy when I grew up. I still think that would be an awesome job, but do not have the money for the education needed.

both, i have read as much nancy drew books as hardy boys books during elementary years. i used to borrow from the library 1 nancy drew book and one hardy boys book simultaneously then return after 2 days then borrow another. i can do this borrowing thing because i was once a member of the book club.

100 Hardy Boys books. Wow. I somehow have not ended up buying so many hardy boys books. I bought only a few. But then I read many of them, issuing them at the library. They were my favourite detective stories - normal ones along with casefiles. Hardy boys have been a great part of my growing years too. Hmmm should go back to the bookstore. Feeling like reading them all over again.
