I have to admit this. My best hobby was reading books. I love to read books. Earlier when I get some free time, I would be sitting in a corner with a book or magazine. But now with the increased usage of internet, whenever I find a leisure time, I start browsing the internet. I think my book reading time is decreasing day by day..Have you ever felt that your book reading has decreased because of internet usage?

My book reading HAS decreased because of the internet, so has my writing. I am very disappointed with myself and have to re-discipline myself to put other things first. I have been reading more lately, making more of an effort. I'm a little hungry for it right now. Now if I can just get as hungry with my writing. I do have a couple of articles in the wind, but I really want to finish editing my novel and get it "out there".

Thank you for your good wishes. It will be awhile for my book is even polished enough to submit, and then another long while before publication and release occurs. It is a long process, which is why I procrastinate so much.

Yes, I can understand how much effort you have to put into it. May God bless you in all your efforts.

Me too, reading is my hobby. I would normally finish a book in two days time. Now I hardly finish a book in a week. I became more incline in using my pc and surfing the net for the past weeks that I have only lesser time to read a book. I only notice that I haven’t read a book for the past days when I came across of your post. I am now finding more time to read a book and trying not to be with my pc when I don’t have to. It is hard not to use a pc in a day. I think I’m a little addicted in surfing the net and mylot, but for the sake of reading a good book I will have to take a break using a pc.

When you get an interest on something else, your time and concentration shifts towards it. And internet is something that makes us addict when we try to spend some time with it. Naturally it eats the reading time too.

I love to read books, and honestly I don't think my book reading hasn't decreased at all because of the internet. I love to go outside in the summer, sit on the porch and read a great book. In the winter I love to curl up under and blanket and snuggle with my boyfriend while we both read a good book.

It is but natural that when you have started a new interest and you are putting much time to the new interest and devotion to your earlier interest will decrease. An other factor is that you have a plenty of reading material at internet so your activity to read books decrease.

My reading has gone down, there are only so many hours in the day after all. But I now read one book where before I would have 3 going at the same time.

When iwas in college i read books most of the times specially school books. So bored sometimes, i only used internet before to make further research. But now that i am graduated from college i lost my interest in reading books, instead i spend most of the times in front of pc or in front of tv. happy posting.

Yes, school and college days require more of reading. After the college, it is not compulsory to read books. But it is all out of one's own interset. Hence our other interests get more concentration than reading books.
