First of all I never spend change it all goes in a big 5 gallon water jug and sits till its full. It has only been filled two times and on its third time since I started doing it but it gave us about $2K each of the two times! We paid off a few things with the first one and the second one same thing we paid a few things off but had extra so we went on a short weekend vacation.
We do have a savings account too and we have a "bill" called savings so we write a check to the savings account every month. It is part of our budget.
How do we save money. We use coupons for every thing. We buy an entertainment book with a friend ever year. We use some of them and they use some. It saves us money because we split the 25 for the book plus we use different coupons so it works out for all of us. We also shop on ebay often to find things cheaper. We use craigslist often. I haven't taken a liking to freecycle but I hear other people rave about it. We shop goodwill and clearacne all the time. I save money by Christmas / Birthday / Anniversary / wedding shopping all year. I found a beautiful punch bowl at Peir One Inmports on sale from $99 for $13 (I think it was miss marked) anyway I bought it not even knowing who I was going to give it to and a week later I got a wedding invit for a cousin! It worked perfect!!! I find at Target when things in there dollar isle are on sale things that have more then one in it like last week I found nail poilsh 3 in the box for 50cents so I bought a few each girl in the family will get one.
anyway I know I babbled away sorry about that. But those are a few ways we save money!

Sound like you have it all figure out on how to save money. I've been trying to put my change aside be it gets hard since I don't make much. But I do shop from ebay and craigslist like you said. Also the second hand stores. Thanks for your response. Have a good evening.

I do all of the above except have a savings account. I just put money back on my own and just don't touch it unless I have to. I'm really trying to make more of a conscious effort to put money aside and not to touch it. I mean, some things I really could get buy without, so putting back some of what I earn from babysitting each week will eventually start to add up if I can keep from breaking into it. I also use coupons when I can because who really wants to pay full price for something when you can get it for cheap?

I am a Queen of Thrifty!! Coupons are great, sales are a must! We borrow movies from the library instead of Blockbuster. I check with our local Freecycle group for an item that we need or want prior to purchasing it. Recently, our oldest passed his bike down to little brother, only little brother still needed training wheels. Instead of running out and buying a pair, I posted a WANTED on Freecycle and another member offered their old training wheels. We also received a girls bike for their 4 year old sister. Of course, we list all clothes/toys they have outgrown or other items that we no longer use as OFFERS on Freecycle to help other families save money as well. We also use newspaper to wash our windows (doesn't leave the lint that rags leave). There's a long list of things we do to save money, unfortunately, in todays economy, it doesn't seem to be enough!
