Slaughter of Alaskan Wolves

I read today that over the last five years over 700 Alaskan wolves have been gunned down by aircraft with the state's blessing. Last year alone 100 wolves including pregnant females were slaughtered by this method. Sarah Palin Alaska's governor along with the state legislature approved $400,000 of taxpayers money to kill off these beautiful noble creatures. I am appalled and horrified. I am committed to helping these animals even if it is only to lend my voice to the petitions to stop the slaughter. As a matter of fact I would do this for most other animals species. If anyone knows of a cause to which I can add my voice. I would like to hear about it. Peace.

Alaska is actually paying $150 bounty per wolf killed. I've known about Palins tactics for a good while & they're all bad. McCain just picked her hoping for the female vote not realizing the backlash that would occur if her real record got out. That's why they haven't allowed her to speak. If she ever got a real interview they'd likely expose her & how she's been bought out by the big oil companies. To think I used to think McCain was the lesser of two evils....

So true. I didn't even know about the bounty. This makes the situation so much sadder. Neither candidate has an interest in the welfare of America's wildlife (Obama nor McCain). Now, McCain has also chosen a running mate who has actively participated in the elimination of wildlife for profit. I am hoping America's women are not bamboozled by Palin although I am seeing a 'superstar' trend going on with people trying to emulate her. I thought the reason that she didn't speak was that they fear she is ignorant on many topics that a VP candidate should be conversant in. Well I can only hope she is exposed before the damage is done. Now I know better. I was also saddened by the decision to euthanize tens of thousands of wild horses. There has got to be another more humane way to deal with the situation.

How about euthanizing a few hundred corrupt politicians? That would probably help a lot.

So true....they should euthanize themselves instead of inflicting their ideas on regular people.

I really love wolves and I hate this violence against these creatures. The only way to decrease the population of the wolves is to increase the population of the wolves predators and such ... this is just my opinion.

True but their greatest predator to date is mankind. I don't know if a capture apsya and neuter program is viable but they should explore this option.

It is really terrible what they are doing. It is awful!! They are such beautiful creatures. After these types of actions are committed, some animals become extinct. And then some wonder why these animals are extinct. In my opinion, it is by doing actions like the actions that are being done to the Alaskan wolves. (If I am wrong though, please let me know.)

Frankly when you disrupt the natural flow of the environment you also entertain more problems. The wolves as well as the horses make their own unique contribution to our environment. I have concluded that politicians are emotionally disturbed people out for their own gain. The same way they don't care about the environment and wildlife they care less about us. They should all check themselves into a mental institution.
