I have never really been a big fan of books but when I was younger I used to read mystery books, such as Clue and the Boxcar Children which were some good books and I have always loved mysteries especially murder mysteries where you try to figure out who did it,right now my fiance is reading to me from a book called Upon A Good Land by Vilhelm Moberg it is the second book in a four book series about some emigrants from Sweden in the 1850's who emigrate to North America to find a better life for them and their families.

I love reading horror and mystery novels. I'll read other kinds as well, but generally those two genres are what I read the most. Mainly though I read horror novels. My favorite writer is Stephen King. Of his own books, IT is my favorite. If you'd like a nice long read, being at over a 1,000 pages long, I'd suggest that.

My favorite is Science Fiction but I like many genres including "main stream" and classics. I also like to read Science Fiction stories in the Science Fiction magazines like Analog and Asimov. Someday, maybe I will write some, or more accurately complete some I have started.

i love romance mystery novels. when i was in highschool and living in a not so great enviroment the stories would draw me out of my reality and i would become apart of the story and my life was wonderful. reading saved my sanity that and school. they were my escape from an overbaring mother and a very strict household.

I read mostly fiction and the genre shift throughout the years, but my most favorite would always be mystery. I do shift back and forth between authors or might grow out of the phase since I might not find it as fascinating anymore. The pattern is sort of like this:
Elementry/ Middle School:
Dr. Sues
The Boxcar Children
The Babysister's Club and The Babysister's Little Sister
Nancy Drew
The Hardy Boys
R. L. Stine (Phone Calls, Fear Street series)
Joke books
High School:
Nicholas Sparks (A Walk to Remember, The Guardian)
Mary Higgins Clark (All Around the Town)
Lurlene McDaniels (One Wish series)
College:
Margaret Peterson Haddix (Turnabout, Shadow Children series, Escape from Memory, Double Identity)
Mitch Albom (Tuesdays With Morrie, For One More Day)
Donna Andrews (Turing Hopper series)
Dan Brown (Angels & Demons)
Robert Ludlum (Bourne series)
Stephen White (The Best Revenge, Blinded)
Elizabeth Chandler (Dark Secrets series)
J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire)
Manga (Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances)
I usually read when I have time. When I find a really good book or an author who I like, I tend to read more often also. My favorite author recently have to be Margaret Peterson Haddix since I really like her style and how she tends to keep the subject fresh with each topic. Her "Shadow Children" series is quite good.
In terms of recommendation, every one has a different meaning or standard for "good" so I wouldn't know what to recommend. I guess it would depend on whichever genre you prefer. But I listed some of my fav. book(s) next to some of the authors above that I especially like that you can check around for reviews or summary to see if you like it.

I love to read classic literature as well as Christian Fiction, and certain biographies and autobiographies. I read all the time. It is really rare for me to not be reading. My favorite author my boyfriend really got me hooked on: Frank Peretti and I am going to look into Ted Dekkert another Christian author.
A book I would suggest would be X: Biography of Malcom X. It is very powerful and moving. I have never read such an aweinspiring novel except Night by Eli Wiesel a Holocaust survivor.

I love to read and love many different kinds of books . I am interested in anything to do with the paranormal , and science fiction novels but I also like true crime and historical romance . I do have an author that I really like but I can't think of her name off hand . She writes historical novels and just has a style that makes you unable to put her books down but I also like Steven King and authors like that and true crime my favorite author is Ann Rule .
