This is what was on the fridge magnet my mum brought me back from her holiday yesterday and it summed up our relationship well. I dont have daughters but I have sons who are also my friends.

This is true. My mom and my aunt are my best friends. We do everything together. IT truly makes me sad when I see mothers and daughters who are estranged or do not get along. There is so much of my mom in me and I too pray that my daughter and I have the same relationship when she is an adult.

This is so true! My Mum and I are very close indeed, and I like to think of her more of a friend than a mother at the moment she's that close to me, and I know that I can tell her anything.
I would love to be that close to my daughter (if I have one of course) when she is not a little girl any more.
