you can format the system by using Windows XP it has the easy options of formatting a drive the CDs which you got by the system I think they are not useful for formatting I thought they are divers they are motherboard drivers, may be keyboard or mouse drivers and another one may be CD-ROM software.

You Need your Windows Cd to Format and re-install, but if you lost your Windows cd you better contact your provider, since you mentioned you got your Windows cd with your pc and if its windows xp, you get any one of your friends windows xp cd and after you format and while installing windows xp while you are asked to enter the serial key type the one you got over your pc. this key is the one that makes your Windows xp unique, as this key will be registered to you.
Else its better to contact your provider as they usually will be having a copy.

if you are telling about the driver installation cd, then you can download the drivers from the internet.. and if need the operating system, example window xp.. you can download it from microsoft website and use the license in your computer.. if you have a genuine windows, there is a sticker in your computer showing the license number, just type it when ask for license key..
