That is so sad. My favorite film of his was Absence of Malice. He was wonderful in that and he stayed married to Joanne Woodward for almost fifty years. He was a good actor. I hope that his family is all right and they know he is no longer suffering from his cancer.

His time has come. His name rings in my mind but can't remember what was his role in society.

I've always liked Paul Newman.. My aunts and also my mother were all a bit aflutter when he made one of his later movies in Maine a few years back.. They met him and shook his hand.. said he was real friendly not like most others who ignored the lookers on.. He'll be missed.

I just read it on the web. I always liked him, his acting and his charities , the way he was so kind to people in need. He made many great movies. He'll be missed by all.

I used to live in Bridgeport and had met both him and Joanne Woodward several times in the stores. They lived in Weston, which is like a suburb of Bridgeport. I also met Bette Davis several times. All were really nice, down to earth people.
