You know no it's not ok to lie about your age. It's something I have never understood. When young they lie about how old they are older lie about how young they are. I am proud about being 48 and proud of my grey hair I'm waiting to see how much I will get. It is cool lokking have the side thing going on. LOL. Your friend onlydia. OLD AND GREY AND PROUD OF IT.

i do not lie about my age..im proud of it..and i am comfortable with my age...even if i will be meeting someone for the first time and he asks me about my age then i give it to him straight forward...what is the point in lying?he will eventually find it out sooner or later.

I think it is up to the person. But I think it is silly. We all get old and what is the point of lying about your age? If you look younger for your age and you tell people how old you are then good for you! I always tell people how old I am. I'm a woman and I'm 41 years old. I don't care if they know. I don't see what the big deal is about it!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Personally, I don't think it's okay to lie about anything. And having been on the receiving end of someone who lied about his age, I can tell you that it's not a good thing to do. My ex husband, to whom I was married for 20 years, lied about his age. He looked young for his age and shaved off 10 years. By the time I realized how old he really was, I had already fallen in love. He was 24 years older than me. Some say that age doesn't matter and that can be the case, but marrying someone that much older has it's unique problems. We were only married for 4 years and had a 3 year old, when he had a stroke (at the age of 59). He never worked after that, and I was left with supporting our family.
I'm pretty sure that if I had known in advance how old he was, I would not have fallen for this man. Of course, then I wouldn't have my son...

I don't lie about my age. I think that is stupid. What is the point anyway? I always tell the truth. But honestly sometimes I do forget how old I am, honestly. And then I have to ask my wife, how old am I again?
LOL!

Thing is you lie about your age what else you lying about. wouldn't be very trust worthy. Age is just a number anyways. I'm 45 and don't fee like it or act like it. woohoo. Thing is you meet someone and you lie about your age and you guys hit it off when will be the right time to tell them? How can you develope a good foundation in a friendship or romance if it is built on a lie. One small lie about your age can destroy what could be a wonderful friendship or relationship.

I dislike this very much. Telling a lie is the most bad thing. And if some one gives wrong information about their age, may be they are dishonest with their other things also. I never did this kind of things. My certificate age is one year less than my actual age. I use the certificate age everywhere.

No I think its best to start things off on an honest note and tell the truth about your age, because I know if I met someone and happened to ask them how old they were I would hope that they would tell me the truth, Iv never lied about my age because its not like if you lie about your age it will magically change to a different number or something, so why not just tell the truth about your age besides most people are shocked whenever I tell someone my age because they tend to think I'm much younger in real life I guess its a blessing.

hi mattcassethan. i agreee with cream that it is indeed very important to be honest from the start. however people tend to lie about their age either to give an impression of maturity or otherwise. well, its their choice.
happy posting!

I don't think that you really should lie about your age, because it shows that you are insecure and you don't want to be who you are. If you look good for your age, just have someone guess! I don't think you have to tell someone your age if you don't want to, but just don't lie. You might have made them lose trust in you when they find out.

I didn't lie, but i just let them guess. =), then i will know what is his/her impression towards my age. But of course if they insist and i am comfortable to tell the truth, i will tell. For me, is not a big deal if to share with friends, not stranger. =)

I have never ever lied about my age... i think it is the discretion of the person not to tell her age... but to lie about it is not good... seems like they cannot accept the fact that they are aging... even if it show... i am proud to say that i am 33 years old... and even if i am already 50 or 65... i will still say my real age... because i know i look younger...

Depends on why you are lying about it. If you are lying to do something that requires you to be a certain age by law or something then it is wrong. If someone wants to shave a couple of years off of their age, to make them selves feel better, then so be it. It doesn't hurt anyone. I guess it is OK as long as it does not hurt anyone else.

Honestly, i've never lied about my age. As a matter of fact im proud of it because every time i mention it, people think im lying and are amazed. Im already 35 but they say i look like 25. So it's pretty flattering. People are entitled to their own opinions. If they want to lie about their age, that's their prerogative. But i personally dont do it. I want to be honest to myself and to people.

I don't know why exacly people do lie about their ages , the age is some thing which stays with us , wherever we go , so where is the shame to say that you have 50 or 40 years ,..
about lying about your age ,I think that the lie stills a lie even if it concerns the privacy life ,so you did lie about some thing and that was your besiness,To my mind you shouldn't lie about a simple thing like that.
