I used to ride and own several horses growing up. I had a favorite that i trained to barrel race. Her name was Tintin. I have always been allergic to animals. My eyes used to swell up and all my eyelashes fell out but I refused give that horse up. I haven't ridden for about 20 years.

I have only ridden a horse once in my life and I loved it. It was when I was a child, maybe 8 or 9 years old (give or take a few years). I haven't been since but, I really want to. My hubby and I talk about it now and then since we first started dating but, for some reason we never have gotten around to it. Maybe someday. I love horses.
And, I cant' blame you for not wanting to give up your horse despite your allergies. I have 3 cats and a dog and, if I were allergic to them, it would really tear me apart to have to say good-bye to them in order to feel healthy. Frankly, I don't know that I could.

Ive only ridden a horse once..my family and I went on vacation in Dominican Republic and we went on a guided tour (about 10 years ago so I was about 12 or 13 years old) and all was going well I was enjoying myself and having a great time until my brother decided to get his horse all riled up and charge straight into mine :(
that didn't end up great LOL i fell off and hurt myself so then i went on my dad's horse with him for the rest of the ride and strangely enough, THAT was even worse...my dad ducked for a tree branch that was gonna smack him in the head, but I wasn't paying attention and SMACK!!! RIGHT IN THE HEAD!!!
...not the greatest first experience with horses, but I'd definitely try it again!!

I ride horses.. Had 3 until lately. I like to teampen, used to rodeo and gymkhana. Love paint horses and quarterhorses. I vacation in the mountains or at the beach with my horses. I cannot imagine not having one at least, but i grew up with them. Not sure what you can do about your allergy problem, but they have different horse shampoos/rinses that might also help you. good luck! and good mylotting!
