Well, as for me, I have not ever bought anything on eBay and I am planning to use this month's earning to buy a CD which is selling for about $1.30 and the shipping is $4.00! Still, $5.30 for a CD is a great deal, because I know the songs on it are by my favorite singer. Every song he has ever done has been my favorite, so I know it's worth more than that to me!

I bought some beautiful earrings for $.10 and the shipping was $1. Still, I got a great bargain! I have bought several other things that cost less than the shipping, too. Shipping charges really tick me off, though. When I sell things on ebay, I charge honestly and don't add cost to the bill. Some people want $4 for shipping a one ounce item that will fit in a padded envelope and cost $1 or less to mail! I won't buy from sellers like that.

Well, I got earrings once at a dollar store, so that was 1.00 with 7 cents for tax, so it was about the same. Plus, they were crappy. And I lost one, too! Oh well.

Yes, I have bought something on eBay that cost less than the shipping. Sometimes sellers put a very low price like .99 on something but charge $15.00 for shipping. But the total is $15.99 that way. I price it out with the bid amount and the shipping always. That way I look at the total price and sometimes those auctions are the best deals. I don't care that they charge that much for shipping when the item is so inexpensively priced. I always compare and shop from the seller who is offering the lowest TOTAL price, regardless of if the shipping is a high amount. Good luck shopping on eBay, it is fun! Just keep an eye on the seller's feedback percentage and hope for the best! Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Try to do some window shopping before hitting the bid button on Ebay. You can be astonished how much the shipping charges vary on that site.

Not to mention that they have fees even if nobody buys their product, so it must be frustrating for everyone if it doesn't work out.

I've bought tons of things on ebay uk which have cost less than the postage, the best ones are local ones that you win for 99p then collect them so no postage just ur petrol to go and pick it up, sometimes these can be great little bargains but sometimes they can just be pure tat and not really worth buying but i don't know about other people though i love to have parcels coming as often as possible, makes me feel special lmao.

I know how you feel! Actually I don't because this is the first time I'm going to be ordering something with my own money, but it does feel good to get a package at the door, even when it's just for someone else and it's really boring.

I did buy a stuffed animal where the shipping is more than the price. Sellers do that so they can pay less fees that is why they do it. Ebay only charges a fee for the price not for the shipping.

yes, that often happens to me. i have bought a few sterling silver charms and the last one that i bought i paid a dollar for but $6- for shipping (which is because it is quite heavy) but thats ok, as long i am not spending a ridiculous amount of money on shipping.

Yes definately, most of the items you see on ebay cost less than they are to ship, some items do cost alot to ship but most of them don't like the jewelry I am a seller and It's basically 2.00 a little more or less to mail out a package unless it's a HUGE lot and someone was charging 18.00 shipping for 10 belly rings which I've only charged 2.00 for, like someone else said they are basically charging the price in the shipping charges and that's because they don't get final value fees on shipping charges so they make more money, i think ebay is trying to stop that now though

Hi there sheepie! I never experienced buying anything from ebay that costs less than the shipping fee. I do not find that practical. What I do is check if the person has other interesting stuffs, if he/she does then I would also consider buying them just to make sure that I maximize the shipping costs. If I do not find any other item interesting on his/her list, I would think twice if I really need the item, if not, I'll just drop the idea. But if it is really something I am interested in and I need it, then I wouldn't worry much about the shipping cost being more expensive than the actual item.

A lot of people do that on ebay so they can avoid paying higher fees on higher priced items. I think it is misleading and dishonest. When I sell on ebay, I charge the cost of shipping plus the cost of the packaging, which is usually negligible. If you are happy with the total price, though, then great.

Yes but I figured the item and shipping combined were less than the original price.
