i have all mine on.. i know im crazy.. BUT when i am on the computer regularlly then i can keep up.. well my schedule has been crazy and i have missed a day here and there and BOOM i am 3 days behind on some.. my inbox refused to get lower than a couple of hundred new emails no matter how hard i worked.. so i after awhile just delete all the older ones and just focus on any new ones people do.. im afraid i am missing out but if i am gonna stay so far behind i wont be answering some people till a couple of days later.. anyone else just deleted a whole bunch of notifies since they lost hope in catching up? i know i could just turn them off but everyones would get so buried in my home page that i would have less success looking there than my emails grr

Moonlit..when i'm behind like today i just delete my emails and go to friends started and see whose discussions i missed and respond there..I try to go all the way back so i won't miss anyone but it does happen sometimes...

yeah i always miss something that way which is why i put on notify.. some people say i should just narrow down the amount of friends i have on notify but then i wouldnt know who to pick and choose from lol

This usually happens to me after I return from holidays. There is no way that I would ever be able to catch up on two weeks of notifications so I very quickly scroll through all of them. I respond to a few easy ones and then I just delete the remainder. I am sure the my friends don't expect me to to respond to every one of their posts as there are always some subjects that I either wouldn't be interested in or I wouldn't know anything about. As long as they here from me every once in a while I am sure they will know that I am still their friend.

i try to keep totally on top of things and a lot of friends are great about doing that with me so i feel bad if i possibly missed something and i never go to the home area to look through it there

just about everyday, I get more mail than I can handle in a day. I have no choice but to delete.

I'm in the same boat so what I do is put the older ones in a folder then I answer the newer ones and some of the older ones...that way I'm taking care of both. It's time consuming but worth it. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

Personally, I only have one notification turned on. I learned (at another site) not to do the notifications. At that site, some gliche happened and we weren't getting any notifications. Then when it was fixed about 3 days later, I had 6,000 emails. No way I'm ever doing that again. My friends know that I don't use the notifier system. If they want me to see something (that I haven't already found), they can PM me.

I am always behind/never caught up and I probably never will get there lol. I read more than I answer because I usually read all the responses and comment. I haven't deleted much, I just don't get around to everything. Do people really respond to every notify? How do they have time??

I am way behind, but I will never delete a notification. That's like throwing good money out the window. All my MyLot notifications go into a special MyLot folder, and they don't get deleted until I've looked at them, and answered them, if i HAVE SOMETHING to say.

I have put the notify on button for those friends who post quality posts here. Sometimes yes I receive a lot of notifications that I cannot handle them. I just leave them in my inbox until I catch up with my emails.

i just lived through my first hurricane (Ike) and we had no electricity for almost 2 weeks. during that period i was able to access the internet once from a relative's computer and found plenty of notifies from mylot in my inbox. there was no way i could catch up with all of them because my time was limited so i had to delete them all and then turned off all of them. just got my electricity back a couple of days ago and i'm still playing catch up with everything (not just mylot), so i still haven't turned them back on. btw, gmail uses 'labels' instead of folders but they're basically the same thing. so you can create 'labels' for mylot in gmail.
