Into The Wild is my favorite book. I've read it front to back 6 times. I was hesitant at first to see the movie (in fact I waited til after it came out on DVD to watch it) because I was afraid it would ruin the book for me. It didn't! I thought that the movie varied enough from the book that it made it interesting, exciting and real without ruining the original Chris McCandless story. I loved that a lot of the movie was through the perspective of Chris instead of through the author's eyes. I also liked that there was more of his sister's presence in the movie than the book.
What do you think?
Did you think the movie ruined the book? Was the movie better?

I liked the book more, the movie is great too, but the book is just a masterpiece. I liked the movie too especially that most of the things in the book were included in the movie but I nothing can be better that the feeling of excitement when reading the book.

I haven't read the book but after reading this post I want to. I might have to order it off of amazon.com.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I also really liked the film. I thought Emile Hirsch did a great job as Christopher.
