i want to learn french

I agree with the others, sign up for a class at your local community college. I studied French in Middle School and High School, and then studied Spanish at my community college.

I took a french class in the county I used to reside. I think that may be the best bet if you can find a class at a community college or even library hosted. The internet is great, and tapes are too, but the best bet is for you to go and learn it from someone. However, make sure it's something you want to do. I didn't make sure it was, and quit before I even got ahead!

Can you read English pretty well? It's certainly a good start toward learning to read French, but the rules of pronunciation differ greatly. all the best.. keep posting take care and have fun...
