I read an article that scientists are looking for a "gay" gene. I have heard they think they have identified one. Is being gay a genetic thing a choice or? What are your thoughts? I think genetics play a role somehow as I am the oldest of 3 and all 3 of us are gay. Somethings in the water somewhere :) What about those that think gays can be prayed straight? Is this real, does it work or is this just brain washing?

My question is what does it really matter why a person is gay or not? Why does there have to be a cause, why can it not be because thats just the way the person is? Although the most interesting theory i have heard about the reason a person is gay is because its the mothers hormonal levels during her pregnancy. The more estrogen she produced while pregnant with a boy would make the boy more feminine. If her testosterone levels were high, the more likely the female child would be masculine.

It isn't a choice. Who would put themselves in the spot to be so discriminated against and judged against by choice? No...you can not pray a gay person into being straight. Some are shamed and ridiculed into trying to live a straight life to please others. They are emotionally scarred and very unhappy by the lack of acceptance they recieve from the church, their families and others in society that deem it their right to judge them harshly.
