Not telling is lying?

I think the reason of hiding something from someone is very important in most cases. Because we need to juggle with the consequences of telling it or not telling it . If the outcome of telling it out is much disastrous then hiding it, then we would better hide it somehow. But, it depends on individuals as well. For me, even though I know the truth is ugly and cruel, I still prefer to know about it , rather than being kept from knowing it. I think most people share the same thinking too. Only in some very rare situation that, we won't want to know the truth. Because at that moment, we are already deeply disappointed and had given up all the hopes

Not telling is somehow consider lying as the intention is there. So if you are telling half and not the whole situation, is consider not lying?? kind of bluffing to ourselves, but be frank is most important in relationship unless you can keep the secret till the end of life.

Yes, not telling the truth, or only open half of the truth can be considered as a deceiving actions, but it is slightly different from lying. Not telling the truth is that you are not making up stories like when you are lying about something. When you decided not to tell anything, it could be that you didn't see any good would come with the truth or you would see it would harm you somehow. Keeping truth as a secret doesn't mean that you are lying when you do that to protect someone else.

I think it's about being more responsible. Sometimes the truth hurts so it's best not to tell it and keep it for how long it will take. Maybe time will render it useless after years passed.
