Best one I have ever used is Avira AntiVirus. Check out my post on it in my profile. It is fantastic! If you need a great Anti-Spyware, use one called SuperAntiSpyware . It has, by far, got to be the best AS out on the internet. BTW, both of these apps are free! And they work well! I also suggest running one called RegRun Reanimator. That is not very popular, but it really helps. Be careful, though. If you aren't the best with computers, I suggest you skip this one. It can get a little in-depth, since all the "suspiciuos" files may, by accident, be good ones. It does, however, offer you a "rollback" allowing you to put the apps/dll's back into the right folders, but remember: Editing/deleting a system file/folder can result in 1 of 3 things: A format, a file-recovery program, and french fries! (3rd thing isn't really necessary) For all you techies out there, I will be making a post shortly on Reanimator, so don't worry if you are unfamiliar with it. Hope this info helped!

No problem, I enjoy helping with computers. I have my fair share of technology from family, friends, and the studying I do, since I am learning and studying to work in the technological field. Glad I could help!

you know guys. I am having the feeling that antivirus programs are becoming very useless because of the fast grow of of the number of viruses that are accruing daily. i have tried some antivirus programs and they all can do some good job. but what i can see is most of the times they will stay unable to deal with a fair amount of viruses until some time. interen is getting less secured area every day.

I also agree you guys. That's why my other option is to use DeepFreeze or Microsoft SteadyState. With these you actually prevent any changes to your system including modifications made by viruses when they infiltrate your system such as the registry. You can set your system to revert to the original settings by simply re-booting. I think this is the best protection against viruses especially for those without internet connection and cannot do a daily update of their anti-virus.

As far as I'm concerned ,I think that kaspersky is one of the best choices that you can pick , it is a strong anti-virus , it can protect your PC very well against any kind of viruses, trojans and bad programes ,.. I tried it and I liked it , he can update itself by itself , no matter , it scans your PC each time when it feels that there is something wrong , It helped me a lot specially when I had my machine plenty of damaged files , folders ,... I advice you to use it , because it is one of the bests at all.

Usually any Anti-Virus program is good as long as you keep the dat files up to date. the dat files hold the virus definitions so that the program can keep your system clean. I know McAfee updates those dat files about twice a week.

If what you need is a free anti-virus, try avast or avira. For me these are better choices than AVG. Avast has more functionality coz it has web and network protection, and other protection services for email; which you can disable if you don't need them. Disabling those services will trim down memory usage. In my case, I combine avast with PCTools' ThreatFire. Or you can use COMODO firewall which can prevent access to your system files if there are trojans or worms trying to infiltrate your system.

Hi, There are many different types of anti virus. There are free ones and there are ones that you can pay for. A good free one that I use is called AVG security. There is also an option to pay for it and you get added security. A good one to pay for is Norton Internet Security. I got a free 90 day trial with my computer and i found it to be very good as it blocked all viruses. I hope this helped! Ollie
